It's running on 2 and 5.

So THAT's why there wasn't any power!

Once you get these little rebuild bugs squared away... we want to see a hero picture. And REALLY want to see & hear a engine vid......

played with it a bit today... running a bit better, just dieseling now. I still think I have the injectors not wired right.

The Toyota schematic has cylinders 1 2 and 3 wired kind of 'separately' (?) from 4 5 and 6. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Any advice from any 3FE guys? Cleared the O2 sensor and Throttle Cable codes. No more codes.

The video doesn't really convey how much its rattling.

Matt, before you go any further i would check your compression to see if you have any tight valves if all is good check your firing order including your injector harness output, you could also do a running compression test for individual cylinder output. If you could pull out the injector rail with injectors mounted see if you could locate any non firing injector while cranking and don't forget basic timing.

If your doing a manual transmission swap, why didnt you go with a H55F?
You probably mentioned it before I just didnt catch it.

Good luck with the engine man. Youll git er'

I'll check compression first thing. Timing is set, if it isn't dead on it's close enough to rule it out, there's literally no power at all.

Injectors are all firing, I listened to each one individually with a stethoscope.

What I can't tell is if the wiring order really matters, it seems that they are are wired in sets of three, the first three cylinders and the last three cylinders. We already played around with switching the wiring between each injector that is next to each other, 1 and 2, 3 and 4, and 5 and 6.

I think it's a combination of unmetered air and valves out of spec.

How many FJ62's have H41's? I haven't heard of any besides the truck my H41 came out of (which has an H55F now).

I used the 2000 I saved on building this motor.

Great thing that turned out to be so far

batch firing...the front three and rear three all fire at the same time(3 in front, then 3 in back, then 3 in front...) the time between when the fuel is sprayed to when the cylinder in question needs it is negligable for these purposes, so toyota opted to batch fire thier injectors, rather than each one firing at a more precisely timed point in spacetime...the front 3 should all fire at the same time, and then the rear 3 should fire at the same time...this is how it is.

did you unscrew your goldenscrew?
VAlves could need adjusting...
unmetered air will always cause these symptoms
is the TPS calibrated?

did you install a vacuum check valve backwards? Brake booster...

I <3 LAMBCRUSHER.

Seeing your posts makes me happy because you always give great advice.

Going to check those things now!

Intake manifold is off, out to lunch now but making progress. Going to boroscope the intake to see if all the injectors are shooting fuel.

To those with a Desmogged 62, is there any reason I can't cap off the vacuum lines on top of the throttle body? They are labeled as EGR which is disabled on my rig. I think those lines are capped at the other side anyways...

Any reason I can't cap these off?

Adjusted Throttle Position Sensor to factory spec.

Replaced Oside Tiger injectors with Toyota injectors from my old motor.

Put everything back together.

It runs great. Drives great too!

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Still need to burp coolant and back off the timing a little bit. To retard timing which way would I rotate the distributor?

Its always great to see another young guy into cruisers!
Way to go man. By the time you and I are older, we'll be way ahead of the curve!
