Pull time ~6 hours. Not bad for first time.
Thanks @CruiseOrlando @super40 and Aaron for all the help today.

And yes that's me with the ugly suit. I put the 'Matt' patch on so I don't forget my name

Sorry I couldn't stay longer.

You might want to invest in a few of these... :grinpimp:

Plan is to be driving Tuesday or Wednesday

Is it done? What's the hold up? :deadhorse:

maybe he's out driving it around...or if he's like me, he forgot the rear main seal last week...Bueller?

New plan: driving by Saturday :hillbilly:

Was in a funk on Sunday after getting sunblasted on Saturday, didn't get anything done. Yesterday I stepped it up though, went and picked up another engine stand (that's really inadequate for this engine although it's rated for 1000 lbs) and my dad and I went to work pulling all the parts we needed to reuse, clean them up, paint, then install. We usually work on our own separate projects so it's cool when we work together.

Here's the list of what was accomplished:

Power steering pump flushed clean and installed
New water pump installed
New Engine mounts installed
Water inlet new thermostat painted and installed
Exhaust manifolds painted
Finished painting all the vacuum lines and heater hard lines

Still need to do:
Clean upper install manifold, throttle body
Make a new wire harness out of the two I have
Install manifolds
Pull pilot bearing, fan clutch and distributor from old motor
Clean clutch components

Decided to modify my new engine stand so I can't return it even though it's safer now :hillbilly:

Buying a donor motor was a good idea because instead of being down for 5-8 weeks I'm down for 5-7 days.

However next time I would buy a complete donor motor out of a part-out instead of just a long block so I could have *everything* all ready to go.

I've been painting everything with Rustoleum barbecue paint, comes out nice and dries super fast.

I just did my oil pan with the same paint in black. Worked pretty well.

Good work, can't wait to see it together!

Thanks for the tip J, will do.

We wrapped the engine harness in heat-resistant tape over two layers of wire loom. Every connection wrapped in tape.
