Back into the shed tonight.. finally got a keyed chuck for my drill (i've always struggled getting the keyless chuck tight enough).. and hit the other section of the inner roof gutter.. I've been having a hard time forming the double edge of the 3rd windows and the frustrations of not being able to do it right have made me avoid the shed somewhat.. but i was watching the skid factory the other day and 'Turbo Yoda', said that theres lots of jobs to be done and the cars not all finished until they're all done. If one jobs giving you the s***s, find another one and keep moving forward... so tonight.. i removed the rest of the gutter on the pax side and a longer section of inner roof support.. so i can get some fresh meat in there.. and man.. it feels good to see it in there next to that rusty crap..

It was pretty wet and windy the friday evening through to sunday when the sun came out as we packed up to leave.. Got some good wheeling in the 80 but have a weird engine noise i can't diagnose yet..

So I busted my trailer gate when a hinged rusted and seized, so I spent tonight fixing that so the trailer is operational once again.. then after that I tacked the A pillar on the Pig:

yaayy! more form work.. !

So i've been in a bit of a holding pattern since ordering my press.. it still hasnt turned up but its now on island which is a start.

Started cutting stuff out of the A pillar although with a total fire ban I shouldn't be doing any grinding..

Saw that on da News

Yeah we've been lucky so far and missed the most of it but its 38c (100f) forecast for tomorrow so hoping it continues to be a non-event.. sadly the same can't be said on the mainland.. :(

- ROADVISION’s BR310 Series LED combination lamps - BR310ARW

The BR310ARW are 300x100mm in size and work vertically. My factory light housings are cracked and it will be an ongoing struggle to source replacements so figure now is as good a time as any to do the body work required to make these fit.. Alternatively these (BR282ARW) which are a bit smaller:

Bought the 60 snorkel so i can make similar mods to what @fj55-100 did with his.. I figure when doing the A pillar mods I can use the opportunity to weld some nuts inside for mounting. I also plan to use the vent to get inside the guard between snorkel and airbox (which is the same side as the snorkle on a BJ)..

Yes the fires suck , thinking of you over there.

My $2c is find the right lights, nothing takes character away quicker than generic taillights, but it’s not my build and judging by everything else your doing whatever you choose will be well executed.

I think I'm well past keeping it true to form.. I just want something that works well and can be easily replaced if need be..

Well I just put in motion another motivator to get this project finished. Sourced and booked in a new windscreen for the pig...

Also my press turned up today so I'll be setting that up tonight and getting a move on with the roof works.

Fiddled around with the press and brake and happy with the ease at which it does this particular bend..

Its been a stinker today with a few fires popping up near by.. theres two near my folks place about 10mins down the road with near by suburbs that have been evacuated.. we got our shiz together just in case it came this way and we needed to bail..
