Might test fit the windshield before moving too far from this stage in case you need to adjust the framework.
Yeh that thought had chossed my mind. I do have a new seal and old complete windscreen to test with

I was feeling a bit fatigued after the last few nights effort.. so had an early night.. then woke about 11pm and had the cogs turning on my build keeping me awake until about 3am.. so rather than have deal with that I'm going to be resigned to exhaustion to help me sleep.. so no more nights off!

The inside of the top edge of the windscreen where the rear vision mirror and sun visors bolt too looks rather sad from the inside, as well as bits of rust coming through to the windscreen frame.. with the edges above looking as sad as they do I'm thinking i'll need to remove this rather than simply treat the rust.. it doesnt really make sense leaving it there when all the other rust is being removed.

60 series snorkel turned up and looks like a good fit straight out of the box:

And started shaping stuff for the bottom A pillar windscreen section..

I'll have a go at glueing it all together tonight.

I have always wanted to install retractable seatbelts in the 2nd row and had been scratching my head on how to do that.. but I noticed yesterday the BJ7x donor tub has in-pillar seatbelt mounts... which should transfer easily enough to the 55..

Had the night off last night and spent some time with the wife in front of the telly giving her a foot rub... counts for the rest of the week I'm in the shed..

Today I got some daylight shed time to weld out the rest of the A pillar, and tonight I got to put in the upper brace..

I haven't joined the roof skin up on purpose incase I decide to do more to the top of the windscreen frame at a later date.. still undecided at this point..

Lower outer A pillar started:

20200115032803-28f6357f-me.jpg

The last bit of rust removal for the passenger side:
20200115032822-c6ab39d2-me.jpg

Then its just gutters to go until I'll be done with that side.. plan is to tack them on now until I get to the roof and then weld them up completely when the roof is done.

Bottom section of the A pillar is formed and now just giving it a few coats of primer and paint..
