That's a nice compressor. I bought the single ARB unit whist in Saudi as well as the Staun tire deflaters. I looked at the dual compressor but couldn't justify the price given my limited usage. I also needed to use it between 3 Land Cruisers so size was a factor. The dual one is perfect though for a permanent mount situation.

The reason why I bought this is because I get a heap of benefits from work, one pool of benefits being "health and wellbeing" and meant I was able to expense the compressor and a rear air locker as "outdoor equipment". The benefit was use it or loose it and coming up to the end of the year I had still a bit left to spend so gave this a go...
Those are some awesome benes!!!

Man, I'm worried about the muck and water messing with it. I don't know much about the ARB models, but like you said, it came at a great price. That would be cool to be able to mount one under the body and it lives. Nice job on the mounting, too!
You seem pretty rigorous about testing the amphibious attributes of your Pig Ron, just saying...

So cool! Love it!!!
Thanks!

Got some more ideas for other sort of shots.. should make capturing quality pig footage a bit easier when i'm on my own..

You flying drone and driving?? Amazing😉🧐🤔
The new DJI Mini 4 Pro has active track where you can select an object (person, boat, vehicle) and track it... it also has omni view (above/below/360deg) obstacle avoidance which is pretty good..

Basically you select a vehicle to track and various modes and it will hold/follow in that position.. crazy tech!!

although I did have a close call so I need some more practise with it..

Did you ever get the last one out of the tree?
Yeh i did. We had some wild and windy weather and found it blown out of the tree. It was pretty water logged and powered on..gyroscope was busted though.

No problem at all. That thing sure is quiet and smooth!
That track was anything but smooth... got thrown around so much that I broke the hinge on my seat back right at the start of the track. I had to put it back in using the axe about 30mins later when there was a chance to stop and get out. Later on when I hadn't put my seatbelt on I literally got thrown from my seat... I reckon I'm still feeling sore today because of it.. Miss 10 did a great job all weekend, and especially on the gnarly stuff. I got in trouble cos the road was too bumpy for her to do her colouring in.

So... Easter 2024 involved going away camping and wheeling with the 4wd club.. there wasn't much interest in a call for a trip so just three vehicles headed out with a general area in mind to do some exploring.

First up was some tourer spec mods the night before with a gas bottle mount and rubbish bag:

Next day we headed out for some more exploring:

Stopped somewhere nice for lunch:

Then off again. Things have been pretty dry around here and the river levels were down. This meant we could access tracks which weren't usually accessible due to raging rivers.. while the other two went looking for a hut that had been burnt down, the kid and I chilled out near the river for a break.. it was great weather and quite hot...

With a long weekend and the weather good it was a bit tricky to find a camp site near the water... but we did and had a dip that afternoon. (here is a photo from the next morning and Maddie with her easter egg.)

Next day was again moving on for more exploring:
20240401201345-dc8341d4-me.jpg

And got some fuel while we could... we're in a semi remote area and the white patrol was a petrol so we all topped up not knowing when we would next be near fuel.

got blocked by a tree as big as an 80... (its on the ground here):

And finally found the track we were looking for..

The videos in my previous posts show what it was like for a big part of the afternoon..

This is about a quarter the way though..

After this we headed down the other side, which was just as scary and technical as it was going up the hill. We crossed creeks and fought through thick overgrown tracks which had seen hardly any use.. there was only one bit where we all had to winch:

After a while we found a campsite and settled in for the night:

I didnt get much video or photos because we were constantly moving and it would just hold up our progress.. I only got the gopro out just before the top of the hill because I had a chance to catch my breath...

And a trip like this isn't without incident...

The snorkle head got completely ripped off by a tree and I had to go back and get it..

The next day we spent about 5 and a half hours driving home, then the fun task of unpacking, washing the car, etc.. I've got some work to do, namely clean out the airbox and check the air filter cos i reckon it has a heap down there, fix flares on all wheels, replace mudflap and clean/vac the interior... but yeh.. that was Easter.. some of the hardest wheeling I've ever done.. and survived.. 11/10, would recommend.
