This might be "chat", but wanted to share - I've been watching this auction with some interest, as the condition of the rig for sale here is close to my own '85 (under 100k miles, rebuilt 2F, true "survivor", etc.). While it is somewhat exciting to see a 60 series fetch $37,500, it is also a bit sad as it starts to price these trucks out of the realm of the "average" user, the person who wants to take the truck to the mountains and use it. Regardless, congrats to the seller - great presentation, wonderful example of a 60 series, and I hope the new owner joins the community and puts some miles on the rig. 1985 FJ60 in Jacksonville, FL
Up for sale is a 1985 FJ60 in working condition. I originally purchased this vehicle to swap an Isuzu diesel into it, but just didn't find the time. The motor runs although needs a new battery. The vehicle is drivable, although the clutch is slipping so I wouldn't recommend long distances until that is fixed. To my knowledge everything is completely stock. The grille, taillights, etc. are all in the rear of the vehicle. There is some rust starting to form above the left doors. I think this would make a great hunting truck or restoration if you're inclined. Feel free to message me for my number if you have any questions. I also have an Isuzu 4BD1T motor with Holset HE221W turbo and NV4500 transmission if you're looking to swap...
1986 Tan Rust Free FJ60 Pennsylvania - *Updated Photos*
My original plan was to have this shipped back to California. I just found out that my job will be keeping me in Pennsylvania. I'm not in a rush to sell, but I purchased this to use as a daily and would prefer not to deal with the hassle of storing it through the winter months. It's completely rust free. Garage kept in Florida the last 10 years. 173k miles. Runs and drives great. 2F Engine. 4 Speed Manual. I did install a new dashboard cover. Everything else is original including the floor mats. AC blows cold. Runs like a champ. You can see the craigslist post here. Serious inquiries only. Will post more photos of engine and under carriage soon. Asking $24,999.
Chunk is for sale. Lots of good and lots of not so good. This won't be like my comprehensive, past for sale threads. Comes with a fair amount of extras including donor metal for the pass. rocker, a better front door for that side, full rust repair panels (with dogleg) for the rear wheel wells Interior is pretty good...dash has a molded dash cover on it. Driver seat is a pass. seat on driver brackets and is the roughest of the seats. Just put a new MAF 2.5" catback exhaust on it and a "test pipe" to replace the cat. Most smog equipment is present other than the cat and the vanes in the air pump are removed. Pretty sure the engine failure was head-based...sucked a valve maybe...don't know for sure but after a lot of clatter, was...
1986 Rust Free FJ60 350 TBI in Maryland - Price Reduction
Sadly selling my 1986 FJ60. Purchased two years ago from a MUD member. You can see their original post below. The prior owner was a much better photographer than me, so take a look. I have made lots of upgrades since so you can see the before and after. Just wish I was as good with the camera. Trade - 86 FJ60 350TBI For Sale - '86 FJ60 350TBI $16,000 Augusta, GA I paid $13K when I bought it from him and have dropped about $10K on it since then. I am asking $15k for it now. Unfortunately for me, I have spent more time and money improving the build rather than enjoying the outdoors in it. Honestly I haven't had it in 4WD since I have owned her. It sits quietly in my garage crying to be driven more while my daily driver battles...

Second owner of a January 1990 FJ-62 series Toyota Land Cruiser. Still runs well with 220K miles, and has been kept as stock as possible. Recently installed new Michelin stock tires, and a new muffler and tail-pipe. Exterior paint overall is good as the PO had it repainted about 12 years ago. However there has been some damage to the DS rear door, and the upper tailgate has rust that needs dealt with. We are the second owner, and the plan was always to restore him to his former glory, but life and needs change. Plenty of potential in a classic LC. Asking $8,000 OBO. These pics are from a few years ago. I will get more loaded, including the rust/damage pics. Dropbox - FJ-62 - Simplify your life
1987 Toyota Land Cruiser HJ61V Imported From Japan
Hello everyone, I am selling my Toyota Land cruiser that I imported from Japan, 3 years ago. Since I have imported it, I have not had any issues with it. It is a fairly large Land Cruiser, so it may not be for everyone, but I will say that the body lift can be some what easily taken off. If you do this, you will need different tires. I do not drive it anymore and it has been parked for a year. It is just time to part with it. There are 180,000 miles on it. It is mechanically sound, it shifts smooth, starts strong and the engine seems very strong. There are 35" tires on 15" wheels. I am asking $18,000 but am not firm on the price. Clean and clear WA title. It has been registered as well.
Hello I am looking for a FJ62 in good shape little to no rust and in good condition. I have a budget so nothing too expensive. My budget is between 10-12K. The car doesn’t have to be perfect but in good shape as it would be my daily driver. I have checked the local Craigslist postings in Portland and Seattle but haven’t seen very many good ones... there’s a blue one in Portland but I think the price is a little high for what it is... Thanks!! Cade
1984 FJ60 For Sale Mississippi
SOLD-----------It’s time for me to sale this truck only because I picked up another fj60. 1984 FJ60 179k miles on the clock, $13,000. It is a solid truck. I have a ton of pics and videos I can send. Has clear MS original title in hand, three ring binder from previous owner of pages of receipts, has original Toyota manual with original dealership and owners name.I’ve put in a lot of replacement parts as well including getting the A/C blowing ice cold. Old school desmog where everything is in place, but pump and air rail has been welded shut. I do have a complete smog setup from another truck if someone needs these parts. I Can give full run down if someone’s interested.
1987 FJ60(Fort Worth)
I am selling my fj60 and here is a link to the autotrader ad Autotrader - page unavailable Asking $26,500 Very clean FJ60 that has been well taken care of. I am the 3rd owner. I bought it in 2004 from a guy in Texas who bought it in 2001 from original owner out of California. Extremely clean and ZERO rust. I have records/maintenance from both owners. Engine overhauled at 161k when I purchased, resurfaced cylinder head and replaced head gasket at 215k and still running strong at 220k. Wagon has been almost fully restored since I have had it. Got a new paint job a few months ago, replaced carpet, seats were reupholstered w/ nice leather and new door panels wrapped to match. Freshly sprayed bumbers with Warn grill guard and Badlands...
89 FJ62 2h Diesel, H55, locked, ARB etc.
Update: The turbo is on and running but it's not 100% done yet. It has been sitting for a year while I tried to find the time to finish the turbo. Update#2 I got tired of trying to make my DIY turbo kit work and was able to buy a used kit from the forums. It's not installed yet. The quick and dirty stats: The good: 89 FJ62 2h Diesel rebuilt by me (Master Lexus Mechanic) with less than 5k miles on it I would guess. Rebuilt injection pump and injectors and alfin pistons installed for future turbo H55 5sp. was purchased new when diesel went in. Not sure of mileage ~250k on body Old OME heavy/heavy lift springs and shocks ARB bumper Warn 8270 (goes at asking price but otherwise might stay with me) 4.88s currently installed which dont...
Never thought I’d see the day...but it’s finally happened. The Cruiser has been boringly dependable, mechanically. It’s reliably taken me on numerous hunting trips into the BC backcountry with some super low temps up in the mountains and nary a hiccup. But that rust was getting to me, and finally it got to the rear spring hanger...for the 2nd time and due to a change in job, I just don't have the time anymore for welding stuff. This cruiser still has a ton of life left in it. Mileage is at an accurate 286,102 which is barely even broken in for a normally aspirated diesel engine like this one. The guy I bought it from bought it from the original owner and he had all the service receipts on it...including installation of a...
Time has come to thin the herd... never a good time I had looked hard and wide to find a 5 speed no rust FJ62, and got this one a few years back in California and shipped it to NC sight unseen from a mud member, of course the only way to buy this rare vehicle was from a responsible member, and there was no surprises, except for some shipment mishaps. I grew up around TLC and currently own a 1984, a 1988 and this 1989, every family member drives one, so they are daily drivers and maintenance is a weekly chore, I spend a significant amout of time sourcing parts and reading how to do things (only way to do it right is to do it yourself). This car lived in CA and has original paint, but was resprayed over the hood and roof for clear coat...
