A totally seized motor usually happens after plenty of warning signs and/or significant abuse or massive oil leak. A 2UZ suddenly starting slow and then "seizing completely" seems... unlikely.
Get a second opinion or better yet, get it back...
I definitely took that as verified fact.
Although if it IS just a timing belt, is it a great idea to keep turning it over? Seems like that might be a good way to bend some valves...
Talking to my kid a little more this afternoon… he said when he tried to restart it it cranked very slowly. The shop is saying it is completely seized up. Those two statements don’t seem to agree with each other. Is there a scenario where it...
Well, I didn’t see one in person, so I’m speaking without knowing:
Is it me or it looks…. fragile?…
Blasphemy!! I know.
Back to the discount thread..
Got lower front and rear control arms from last sale

Pay for a compression test on the potential, 135K mile engine.
Question I would want answers to:
Is it a 2UZ-FE from a Land Cruiser?
From a Sequoia?
From a Tundra?
Non-VVTi?
At 135K has it already had its first timing belt.
$1800 isn't a bad...
I'm going to need y'all to take and share a lot of pictures of the event, as I cannot make those dates work into my schedule but will instead be there a few weeks after the event. Kudos to all the hard core East Coasters planning to go, that's a...
As some of you know Long Range America does not currently/officially offer any fuel tank upgrade for the 2005+ 100 series. The auxiliary tank has its own issues which can be found elsewhere on this forum. Apparently the 150L/40g main tank can be...
A couple projects recently in the last month:
* Tint, shop had some metallic still around and I like the way it came out. I think it's 30% and matches fairly closely.
* Re-upholstered seats, L-Seat leather installed by local shop. (leather has...
Installed a set of seat back replacements from Plaidwagon - https://www.plaidwagon.co/. When I ordered, I contacted Kyle about getting a set to match my tan interior. Since it was a color he had been considering, he whipped them up and they...
I have a bias opinion on FOX, but I love mine. And was able to cross reference some part numbers to make some Tundra rear remote reservoirs work for mine!
What a heartwarming encounter! It's amazing how something as simple as a shared appreciation for a vehicle can bridge cultural and language barriers. It sounds like a beautiful reminder of the universal language of enthusiasm and connection.
Hey guys - after successfully running Kenda Klever's (35x10.5r17) on Evo Corse 17x8et40 for the past year I am selling those and putting on TRD Rock Warriors with the 1.25" spacers.
I will report how a 17x8et18 (after the spacers) works with the...
Currently loving the the ride and off road balance the Slee shocks and Bilstein B8's are giving me. I want a tad more height in the rear so I am going to throw some 30mm spacers in the rear. That way when I am loaded or towing it will be perfect.
I’m slightly behind schedule. I wanted this done and driving by June 8 to get to Valley Hybrids swap meet. We’ll see if I can get it done.
Engine mounts took longer than expected, body mounts were easy.
I looked into buying a tank of Argon but...
