1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40
I purchased this FJ40 about 2 years ago from a gentleman that bought it for his wife to drive. She drove it for a few months and decided that it wasn’t the best vehicle (for her) to drive daily so I purchased it. The owner prior to them was the original owner and kept it garaged most of its life. I have taken EXCELLENT care of this FJ40 and it has been garaged since the day I purchased it. I added a few mods but wanted to keep it as original as possible. I am forced to sell due to the economy and bills that need paying. Here are the specs.

I have a very original and very complete 1977 FJ40 that I unfortunately need to part with.
It has 83,313 original miles. It is wearing it's original Olive paint. It has everything with it, jump seats, front seats, rear heater, head rests, even the original wheels and hubcaps. The top, doors, hood, etc are all original to the vehicle. I am the 3rd owner and have the original sales reciept, manual, etc from the sale to the original owner. The only rust on it is some minor bubbling below the rear ambulance doors. Everything else is rock solid and rust free.

This truck was purchased in fair condition in 1997. It got repainted, and fully rhino lined on the interior. The inside of the top has also gotten sprayed with rhino liner to dampen noise and vibration. The motor a Toyota 2F straight six cylinder has a Holly carburetor and headers. Included is the hard top but it has been off the vehicle for a number of years. I also have the ambulance doors, and both driver side and passenger side door. This is the best / worst day. My family has reciently purchased a 1997 FZJ80 (best day), but this means that something has to go. I am thus letting go of my 71 Fj40 (worst day).
Here are the highlights:
FJ80 powersteering upgrade
NV4500 Transmission, 5 speed with 5.61 fist gear. Less than 1500 on the rebuild.
Orion T-case, 4:1 low gear, new this year less than 1500 miles.
twin stick shifter.
Stock 4.11 gears, aprox 92:1 crawl ratio
Chevy 350, cam and heads less than 1500 miles, rest of the engine less than 10k miles. Currently running an Edelbrock 650 cfm, but also have a quadrajet 750 cmf that i've never run.
Front disc brakes / drum rear.
New bestop.
The rig has no rust.
Also has a clear title...
