Kinda different but looking to trade for a FJ40 in GA I don't if anyone might be interested but I would like to trade for an FJ40. Prefer 75 and later but would consider anything fairly nice. I have a 1980 Volvo Bertone Coupe' 262c NOT your usual Volvo. 1 owner....my dad bought it new. Basically Volvo decided they needed a fancy 2 door car but knew it would be costly to produce the limited number so the had the BERTONE factory in Italy build them for them. Hand built with ALL Italian leather interior. Always been garaged. No rust. For sale: 1973 FJ40, 3 speed. Completely gone thru, no expense spared 15 yrs. ago, a true nut and bolt resto/rebuild. Probably spent in excess of $15K originally and hundreds of hours. Needs alot of TLC now, SC air has rusted tub(wheel wells), hood, and roof band badly. Mechanically excellent, but rough cosmetically. Will need paint and body work. Frame and chassis all powder coated and all bolts replated correctly. Every part disassembled, cleaned/striped then repainted/powdercoated/replated. 1967 FJ40 with 74 2F motor. Runs and drives but needs a 38mm carb. Truck previously had a 1fe and I replaced this summer but reused the old 32mm weber. Just not enough fuel for the 2F. Also have a 4spd bellhousing I was saving for the eventual 4spd conversion. I am now moving away from the desert and into SanDiego and will not have the space or environment to continue enjoying. I have owned the truck for 2 yrs. Replaced the old wiring with a modern blade style fuse box and new wiring. Aftermarket roll cage not bolted in. I have 66 fj40 up for sale. The truck runs and shifts. It's a three on the tree. All of the front lights and blinkers work. I think it needs a new fuel pump and it will run much better. The brakes do not work, I went to bleed them and it was leaking where the t is where the brake lines go back. I am going to try to fix that this week, but it couldn't hurt to get a new brake master cylinder probably. The body is in ok shape for its year. The rocker panels need work and the rear quater panels have some rot in the corners where the rear sill was cut out. The cowl and the front fenders are in great shape. 82 FJ40 - New Mexico rig - I'm the third owner - 82k miles - one outside respray - straight six original - hard top and all doors included and in storage so no pics yet but they are pretty much pristine - soft top and doors included - that is what it is set up for now and has been for some time. Notice the snaps and bolts in the rail - potential rust fer sure - pics of rust are there, when I bought the rig 10 or so years ago I went around with brown rustoleum and painted over any surface rust I saw. There are two diesel crusiers on this forum that I would like to purchase one of, which sadly requires I part with the 40. I was told by the PO that the 350 was a crate motor and with adding the miles I put on it, it has ~11,000 miles on it. The truck has a 4-speed as well. The springs are from SOR and have the extended shackles. I just put Bilsteins on, so the suspension is new. The tires are almost full tread, so all in all this truck is ready to go anywhere. Just washed it last weekend and looks much better De-rusted and lightly modified with trimmed rocker panels and front fenders, currently has 30000+/- miles on original transmission and transfer case (speedometer stopped working within 100 miles ago). The truck now has a Ford 302 V8 that was installed when the original owner threw a rod in the original inline 6. The V8 runs but has some low compression and is a little tricky to start, will need some work. Still has original 4 speed trans and transfer case, 2 wheel high works and drives, will not shift into 4 wheel high/low (no cracks in case)...
