replaced the TH350 kickdown cable...slight meltage from prev. owners underhood fire...and installed some new rope on the 8274...175' of 5/16 Amsteel.

left it sit in the driveway while thinking of why my headlights stopped working all of a sudden.

Loaded the frame from my 40 unto my trailer to bring it out to a shop for repairs and stretching and started repairing the A pilliar/cowl support area on the drivers side of my cowl.

Installed HID lights...man what a night and day difference, no more need to use spotlights just to be able to see!! Thread to come.

Got the 42 TSL's thrown on the wheels, mounted them on the front axle and slid it under the frame to check some stuff out. Got the V6 3rd member ready to put in the rear axle. Got to grinding down the rough edges from dash pad, rain gutters, stuff like that. Pained the cowl, kept working on the frame....gotta get it ready for the 200+ ft of DOM........LONG WAY TO GO!!!

Oh, and picked up my 20 gal RCI aluminum fuel cell last night.

I finally got a set of oversized dome pistons for my 2F and dropped them off at the machine shop. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll get the engine back and begin putting it together. But I still need an oil pan and probably a new radiator before I put it back in the truck.

Aside from getting an email from Jim C that my rebuilt carb was on it's way home, I booty fabbed a power steering pump bracket using a smog pump bracket and parts from two alternator brackets. I don't have a welder so making something I could bolt together was key. It's actually much sturdier than it looks.

Hi All:

Fabbed-up a bracket to hold my hobbled-together "powertank" CO2 air-up system in the bed of my FJ40.

Then took the rig 'wheeling on Sunday, flogging it through some good muddy/rocky trails; the new TSL bias-ply tires really hook-up well!
Unfortunately, forgot the camera at home!

Made a pigtail adapter to the remote quick disconnect under the bib that runs to the Optima battery side posts for jump starting (others or me). Pigtail allows me to plug in my Battery Tender to keep 8 year old Optima strong.

I've got lots of little things to take care of:
the water fuel separator is leaking
figure out the two tank selector switch (so I don't run out of fuel)
remove the wire that went to the rear battery
start looking at power steering

but the main thing I did this week is I got it home....

labeled everything, tore the beast down to the block, had the head ground down, new valve guides, valve seats, etc. While the head was at the shop I fixed the speedo that was stuck at 45 mph, peeled off crummy window tinting, ordered a new thermostat, belts, found an ugly minivan bench to fit the kids on. Got the head back, put it back together. Realized I needed to adjust valve clearance; did that. It started! , no more white smoke! Drove it around, did another valve adjustment. Showed it off to my friends 'cuz I just bought it a couple weeks ago. --- not bad for a complete mechanical newbie, eh?
