^ good enough....Hope they turn out well.....

I'm going to go through my doors today and see if there is anything I can do to derattle them I guess...........

Droved 50 miles one way to pick up all the smog parts I need to make my '77 fj40 cali legal. When I say all, I mean all including the carb, dissy and the carb fan. All this came off of a pig so the bracket for the fan won't mount correctly so if I can't find the right bracket I'll have to rig something up for the meanwhile, but all in all it was a good weekend and worth every mile.

I drove mine today for the first time since I got it! A couple of minor thing to do then off for some cage work this weekend.

It's actually the original bezel Scotty! I'll be painting yours then putting it on! Glad to hear you got your backfire issue sorted out!

I'm dropping mine off in the A.M. for a new exhaust as well then down to John for a cage this weekend

Phil- that bezel is freshly painted. Not by me.
Glad to hear you are at the end.

Continued on half doors. Visited American Toyota for parts.

Discovered the welds holding the spring perches on the rear axle house have all broken. My rear axle is twisting inside the U-bolts! I thought the pinion was tipped up more than usual and the clunking was strange too. Welding tonight.

Possible broken King pin bearing, good thing I have a rebuild kit on hand. Teardown following welding.

I wish my days had 8 more hours in them. :hillbilly:

Been workin on doors. Originally was just going to install new window guides and door seals. After taking doors apart, Scraping ALL door seals, sanding down to metal, primering I find some cracks that need to be welded. Trying to lower my road noise and weather-proof for some camping.

:steer:

i took a personal day (didnt go to class/work) and spent 5 hours taking the POs bondo off....
and MUCH to my EXTREME EXCITEMENT! i had NO rust under all the bondo just dents and dings....

happy days happy days!!

Fixed all of that stuff. Pre-ran our trail for our Cabin Fever event on Sat. Our event is 2 weeks later this year and we didn't have as much snow so we're going into areas that weren't accessible last year. It starts with a mean climb up to an abandoned lookout site. Lots of snow in the shade still. There's also a near vertical 12' drop off at one point, that was interesting. All told, we had 4 rigs and no one broke anything.

This coming weekend is our run!

More paint.

researched parts and cleaned the work area

will be ordering the lockers for front and rear. I am going with Richmond Gear, Powertrax for both front and rear, using my hubs in front to release my daily driver issues around town. Got the part numbers all set for the order.

starting on my new front bumper this week so, garage mess needed to cleaned up a bit.

took my spare tire and new wheel to the tire shop and got them mated up.

I got my engine back from the machine shop on Wednesday. I got the block and head painted up yesterday, and hopefully i'll get it on the stand next weekend and start putting it together. I'm aiming for late May-early June to have it back on the road.
