thanks to my former employer facing "tough descisions", I installed my hardtop and doors for the first time in 5 years and made it my daily driver.

I haven't daily drove an FJ40 in 22 years and it takes some getting used to, to say the least. I can't wait until it's 100F outside!!!

Got rid of all the rattles. New door latches, rear hatch latch and window felt.

All parts from SOR and no quality issues at all.

I finally hooked up my M416 after the spring over.

Finally got the locker on, the rear axle back on the truck and the brake lines hooked up. Now time to tackle the front axle starting with tearing down the knuckles. Once I get the knuckles torn down and the parts ready to hit the de-greasing tub, then the front e-locker conversion begins Just try not to laugh at al the leaves, boxes and bags that have accumulated under the truck

adjusted the clutch, drove it to the local anti-terrorist training range for some target practice, put it back in the garage. death valley next month, should be fun.

Test drove from the house to the shop. Took the scenic route. The transmission repairs and the transfer case linkage repairs were all successful. My buddy, who saw me pull up, said (I), "looked like a little boy that just got his newest favorite toy". He was right!

Stripped the tub interior, repaired the rust. Herculined it. Turned out very well! Well worth the effort

Thanks go out to my Friends, Chip & Chad for their help tearing it down, preparing and applying. Made it a weekend project as opposed to much more. Good friends and 4x4's seem to go so well together!

Tightened all my body mount bolts (new body mounts installed 5 months ago), check all leaf spring pins/bolts and Axle U bolts. General go over. And finally painted the front emblem that I sand blasted and primed about 5 months ago(it was super hammered). And installed my stereo, been happy listing to the motor purr, but saw it laying around so I put it in anyways.

I replaced the windshield washer pump and started to bead blast and powder coat the air intake.

Did a little roadtest (470 mile) with my new BJ45...
made a nize deal on a nize truck. almost no rust and just some little things to change..

Change the beed on the truck ... but have not decided if its the right beed for it.... mabe doing a new looking more like the original..

took the upper polyester off, was sick of rain draining in...and let me say that we get alot of rain here in Belgium
offcourse while taking the top off the rubber fell in pieces...

Finished up putting the front axle back to gether with a sledge hammer. Just because the axle housing is bent and no matter how nice it all would look it would still be a piece of crap until I did another housing.

But on the bright side I did get to drive it yesterday.

replaced the TH350 kickdown cable...slight meltage from prev. owners underhood fire...and installed some new rope on the 8274...175' of 5/16 Amsteel.

Replaced my rear drive shaft. During testing, have now discovered 4 of 6 bolts on motor mount are loose. ARGGGGGHHHHHH. Two of which I'll have to borrow a child size contortionist to get to. Anyone have one to loan out?

pickeled the 3fe, new tires, alternator, and winch

got a few things going well. i pickeled the 3fe for future use, made a cart with wheels and rolled it out after wrapping it up real good for storrage. took off the alternator and had it checked so it couold be used for the larger battery needed for the winch, it checked good. saved $125 more off the cost of stripping the fj62-88 down for parts.

took a 600 mile trip to portland and back to buy 4 35x12.5x16 tires on 4 16x10 wheels. paid $1000 for them all, open country mt's from Toyo. put em on and wow they look and feel great. i may pass on the seat shock mounts after all.

ordered a new winch from Warn, 8274-50. will be here next week. visited two hardware stores, habor saw and then englund marina. found all the stuff in the accessories bag for about $130. minus the warn logo though.

ran to a steel yard for parts, FMC Metals in Clackamas Oregon. bought $225 worth of plate for new floor under driver, winch mount plate, new bumpers front and back, skid guards all over, and seat mount for driver, maybe for passenger too. metal for the roof rack, which i will fab up for myself.

altogether i think i spent about $3200 this last week.
