All cool until the bearing fell out.... may end up a battle and 6 pack!

I waited until the last day of the month for my Annual inspection, and of course it was raining the whole day. This is the first time I have had it in the rain for more than a few minutes since I built it. I luckily only had a few spots where the water got in. I do like my split side windows but the downside is that they aren't water proof even with new gaskets and seals.
The local Toyota dealership has a FJ Company G43 on display, I am guessing because its track season they moved it from the other dealerships to sell it to some lucky winner on one of the high stakes days. They are very impressive from what I was able to see, in one of the pics you will see their coil suspension and 60 series steering box.
In my last pic you will see my misfortune on Saturday. I stopped at Napa for some fuel filters and when I started the truck I heard a weird sound, I immediately shut it off to check it over. I didn't notice anything so tried restarting and heard the starter just whine, I slid under the truck and noticed the starter was cracked and subsequently fell out. I pulled the starter and with the help of the kid from Napa we pushed it to start it. After it was running I went back in to Napa and ordered a starter.

Rain? Send some our way, these fires are handing us our asses.

Got the T case sealed up and reinstalled. Between the transmission jack and the 1 1/4” pipe to hold the transfer gear and spacer in place it slid right on. Putting the parking brake back together was more trouble. I wish someone made a disk and cable parking brake that mounted up the same way. I hate drums of any kind.

Also overhauled the rear discs. New caliper ($34), pads, rotors turned. No issues. I really like the simplicity and easy access parts of Poser’s disc conversion.

Man. I need to find this. My ‘78 was found under a lean to where it lived for 30+ years. Sitting for at least 10. The rodent urine is like glue, smells terrible, and heated with a torch…whew.

Just spray it well and give it some time to soak in, then rinse with water. But I have to remove the mouse nests first.
