Got my rear license plate lights working and sold my original seats and starter since the upgrade. Small wins, but moving forward.

Started digging into the second rust repair spot, midpoint of the rocker, above the running board. Had a little surprise when I unbolted the running board bolts and it fell off! I hadn’t undone the carriage bolt that holds it to the stay that extends out from the frame.

Cushion was still attached, along with the bolt.

Typical. I was planning to change the running board out, but I’ve got a lot of irons in the fire at the moment. So I got a big washer and slipped it behind the oversized hole, welded it in and re-slotted the track

Now I can get back on track.

Second rust repair finished.

How tall are those sidewalls? That chassis came out really nice

Bingo- i’ll send a pic of your transmission tunnel when it’s installed.
If it’s still mine, I want it back!😛

Had a little more time with the magic eraser this morning before heading into the quagmire of LA traffic to see my sister

The previous owner installed an old clunker of a starter from CarQuest when the original died, it’s slowly been getting worse so I decided to upgrade to a Toyota reman GR starter. All is can say is wow. If you haven’t done this mod do yourself a favor and get one, took me about 30 minutes to swap it out. It does sound a little “new” for a 40 but I’ll get used to it.
