A Block Island Cowhorn!
Similar, they were built by descendants of the infamous Bounty mutineers against Captain William Bligh in boatsheds for whaling and cargo movement from ships to shore called "lighters" They got bigger, wider and deeper as the Island needed more supplies, made from local Pine and spotted gum.

Rant over....

Before and after. I had the bezel stripped and repainted then I painted the grille a contrasting color so the new "Toyota" badge would pop to maybe reduce the number of Jeep waves, assuming the jeep owner can read.

I'll second this. I was really surprised that I could actually feel a difference. I think the biggest difference is that the crossmember between the rear body mount and the next one in had rubbed through the OEM canvas spacer and it was metal on metal. When I hit big bumps, I think there was a clunking coming from this interface that is now gone.
I’ll third this! Made a huge difference on my ‘78. Next will be the ‘76. And who thought a 40 could be quieter???? Ha ha

Towed it 200 miles home from the engine builder with my 100.

250 miles into the break in, and everything is running smooth.

My carb was rebuilt by Marlin Czajkowski of @Marlin Crawler fame. Who knew he rebuilt cruiser carbs? What a talented guy, not to mention a quality individual, and all around nice dude he is. My carb needed some special attention because of shoddy prior rebuilds, but he was up to the challenge.
The carb works as good as it looks too.

Re-wired the rear of the truck and un did some really poor work from a PO. I used a junction block, same as the front fender uses that will allow me to add a trailer plug later on without any hassle. Wrapped all wires in @Coolerman ‘s harness tape, then wrapped with some fabric tape i got off ebay.

Also removed the top and went out for a ride with the pup! Was a great day.

Tom @papabeach and I took his fresh 40 build on a 1200 mile test drive up to NC for the ONSC Relic Run! We wheeled up every trail at Uwharrie and had a blast, the drive home was pretty cold though
