Trying to finish swapping in new TREs (Luke's Hi-Steer), forgot one had to be reamed for the GM stud. Borrowed a ream from a neighbor. Didn't think it would take all day, it did. Plenty of breaks to let the drill cool down.

On the left is my 45 year old part # 87294-60031 AIR DUCT NET (NLA) in a sorry state of affairs. On the left, courtesy of @78Cruzr and his ultra cool 3D printer is a reproduction of the net.
Fit perfectly inside the blower housing:
The foam rubber gaskets snug it against the firewall opening.

I haven't posted much over the last couple months, between moving, starting a new job and being cruiserless, I didn't have much to share.
So I flew into Anchorage last Friday and spent the weekend tackling errands and spending time with my brothers. Today I packed the forty up and drove to Valdez. Hoping to just drive the piss out of it this spring and summer.

More snow as I came up on Thompson Pass
6hrs and 280+ miles later
Couldn't ask for things to run much better. Just looking to enjoy it for the foreseeable future.

I'll second this. I was really surprised that I could actually feel a difference. I think the biggest difference is that the crossmember between the rear body mount and the next one in had rubbed through the OEM canvas spacer and it was metal on metal. When I hit big bumps, I think there was a clunking coming from this interface that is now gone.

I’m excited! Biggest surprise is that the rear tub sill had been replaced by square tube at some point, complete with bolts welded in. The way the rear “body mounts” (really 3 strips of some kind of rubber) were set up, it actually was only a spacer for the tub and frame bolted together
I did nothing to this 40series except take a photo. It was on Norfolk Island the other day.
Looks sad with the upside down bezel.
