Gassed it up. Since it's not road legal I use Scepter cans for filling.

When I returned home, there was a package from @Fourrunner waiting for me (Heavy Duty Battery Cables). So out with old:

In with the new:

I didn’t realize how bad some of the grounds were, this was mostly a preventive replacement to begging with, turned out it was very much needed.

Check your grounds!

One of my favorite scenes of any movie

My favorite part as well. I remember watching it with my dad, laughing our a**es off!

EDIT: Here's some tech. I got some parts all the way from Osaka.
OEM turn signal lenses, gaskets and an alternator belt.

Looks great. What did you use for the heater valve? I'm using this pneumatic one in my truck from a Lexus:

My heater valve came with the A/C kit from Old Air Products. However, I didn't like the way the valve worked because it didn't point the inlet/outlet pipes in the right direction to work well with a FJ40. So, I googled the manufacturer and found another style that fit my application much better. It was plug and play with the kit from OAP.

Universal Heater Valve

It's getting tight in there...

So is this the valve that will block the flow of coolant into the cab in the summer time? Or does it serve a different purpose? Good looking install!!

@lelandEOD

I really like your heater valve install. As a matter of fact, when I first saw the pic I began searching for a match just off it's appearance. :)
I did find it via vintage air... Also found several other similar valves that would line up about the same way.

Question I have is regarding the hoses you have attached to it.

They appear to be formed hoses, and an exact fit. Do you have the part #s on those?

Sorry if you already posted that info.

Thanks!
It's not really designed to be a block off valve, but rather a servo-actuated heater valve to work with an air conditioner setup.

Yup, the valve can be ordered from Vintage Air and uses the same sort of potentiometer knob found by other A/C kit manufacturers.
The hoses are indeed molded 16mm/5.8" heater hoses. What you see is the result of at least 5 trips to the local O'Reilly/Autozone where I scoured their shelves for hoses that either had the bends I needed or at least could be cut up to get the desired fit. I didn't record the p/ns so you'd just have to grab a few and use your imagination. I returned a lot of hoses in the last couple weeks!

Also, I moved the heater pass-through on the firewall to get more clearance from the engine/exhaust manifold. I found and ordered this bulkhead fitting from the UK and it did the job nicely.
