Finally got around to fixing the factory AC.
The vent windows used to flop around. Tightened the hardware behind the access holes and they now stay put.
Showed up 2021 "ran when parked" in '97. Needed absolutely everything except a body lol
Current day '24 after replacing/restoring anything I could get my hands on.
After 4 years of a few failed attempts! Finally got these reproduced.
I've had them made exactly as per original specification ( molded) out of EPDM Rubber.
After having our first kid, the 70 series landcruiser ute that my wife and I had built to tour Australia in was rendered quite useless, so we set about looking for a replacement for it.
I didn't want to sell the ute as I was quite attached to...
I put in my rear view mirrors. Started out as an aftermarket parts project, then reading old threads and checking with Toyota, I never knew how affordable they are, I should have done this decades ago. Honestly, the factory hardware isn’t that...
More paint this weekend. Got a few runs in the paint that'll need to be sanded out and resprayed but overall it was a good day. Still learning how to use my HVLP gun.

Installed a new throw out bearing on the clutch fork hub.
Got a couple more inches of snow. Frustrating when I'm trying to prep for paint.
Luckily I was able to use a heated shop over the past weekend to finish hand sanding the body, seam...
Worked on my rear brakes yesterday before the eclipse. Trying to figure out the low pedal. I guess ill tear them apart again and adjust more. 3 pumps and then great pedal. No air in the system. Planning a rear bar on the roll bar for the family...
Splurged on a leather wheel cover! Went from this:
To this:
To this:
To this:
And it only took five and a half hours, with frequent screaming breaks! So worth it!
Made an alignment jig, I was 1/16 toe’d out after the axle swap. Definitely explains why I had to hold the wheel on our fine NY roads. Turned the relay Rod about just past a quarter turn. Now I can hold the wheel with two fingers on most roads...
Warning ⚠️, lack of cruiser tech follows.
Time to play catch up before summer dry fly season gets here, going on another backcountry adventure with an old Army buddy this year.
