Bout getting tired of liking your ‘I sure get to go fishing a lot’ pics... need to find time to get my feet in a stream so maybe you can like some of mine! :grinpimp:

It ain’t all fishing and 40’s, sometimes I get stuck working! I also travel the state a lot for kids activities, volleyball, dance, school stuff. I try to make a point to spend some time outside in nature at least every other weekend. It doesn’t always happen but I try.

You keep ‘em coming!

Broke it driving home from work. :bang:

Remember NOT to use silicone when installing it together.

Why that guide pin is popped out?

I’m not entirely sure what happened. That’s the state of things after I broke down on the way home. I was waiting at an intersection and when I put it in gear and started to go I heard a big CLANK sound and the truck wouldn’t move. After the tow truck driver came and took me to my local mechanic’s I noticed that the rear axle was jutting out from the right rear hub.

Loose studs/cones/nuts. I always keep an eye on those rear FF nuts, torquing them down often.

Broke one on the way to work... had to stuff a bag into the hole and limp it there in FWD after pulling the axle.

Mine broke because I’d used silicone rather than a proper gasket. Once the studs loosen up, one will break and the rest will follow.

Primed a couple of surface rust spots I'm treating before the hardtop gets put back together.

And installed some new OEM weather stripping on the ambulance doors. The stuff that was on there when I bought it was pieced and incorrect. This should at least keep the fog out. Also been reconditioning the access plate and paddle handle.

@volklflip88 nice work, went thru the same process on my ‘78 last year when I installed my hardtop. Nice and tight now!

@reddog90 is that a Costa Rican rig? Nice!

View attachment 1813922 I fitted a new side coolant drain (cock) from a later model Toyota. Just needed a brass reducing bush to make it fit. The bonus is that I can fit a tube to the cock and not have coolant dribbling down the block anymore.

Any pointers on the brass bushing? What size and were you bought it?

I wish i could tell you but I randomly found the bushing in a drawer at work. Easy enough to work out if you have the old drain and the new one. Take them in to an engineering supply shop and look through what they have.
