What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week? (94 Viewers)

Someone stopped for no reason in a 45mph zone. I slammed the brakes and hit a tall curb, then rolled.

Very sorry to see that, hope you made it without injury. Huge bummer on the cruiser but looks fixable.

I didn't want to hit the like button because I didn't like what I saw. I hope you are okay and not bruised to much. The 40 is fixable and it pains me to see it in this condition. I keep a dash cam in mine just for those times when I need a backup. If it had been me I would have plowed into the rear of the car in front and let the chips fall where they may with the video as evidence.

Definite “Oh Sh!t” moment we probably all are concerned about when navigating our trucks amongst heathen drivers... Sure hope you aren’t typing this account from a hospital bed!

Unless you live in the UAE, letting the chips fall were they may would just mean that you would both get a ticket, you for failure to control vehicle or maintain safe distance and the other for reckless driving. Either way, you rear end someone, your insurance pays....period. Also, plowing into someone and risking injuring them and yourself is a pretty s***ty way to go about teaching a lesson. In fact, it the camera showed ample time to try and avoid a collision, then there is a good chance that you could be hit with a more severe citation fine and find yourself on the other end on a civil suit.

Anywho, glad the OP is ok, and who gives a crap about the cruiser...it is a piece of metal....replaceable. It pains me the know that people put so much stock into thinking they need to point out how it creates pain to see a hunk of steel damaged.

Ah Spring! The time of the year when I can finally start working on the 40 again. With no closed garage to work in I am at the mercy of the elements.

Here is what I have scheduled:
1. Install the 2 1/2" Pro Comp lift kit, springs, shocks, u-bolts and new shackles
2. Install the u-bolt skid plate with the lift kit
3. I have a problem with the Wheel Vintiques wheels I ordered, not enough backspace and they rub the tie rod ends. I am trying to get them
to take back the wheels and build new ones with the correct backspacing
4. Once I have the replacements I will need to have them painted or powder coated, I am leaning towards paint since it will be easier to
touch-up if needed
5. Remove the original heater and switch
6. Install a Vintage Air heater and fix a coolant leak
7. I am having a custom switch panel made to house the switches for the lights on the front, interior lights and houses the heater
control switches, it will go in the place the radio would normally be in later models
8. I have some electrical wires in the cabin that I want to re-route for a cleaner look
9. Oil and filter change using a high zinc content Lucas Hot Rod and Custom Car oil
10. Have the new tires mounted and balanced on the wheels I hope to get from Wheel Vintiques

Photos later as I complete the work, film at 11.

EDIT: Here is one Wheel Vintique wheel on the right front firmly attached to the TRE.

Made a quick pre delivery walk around video. She leaves on Tuesday.

It sucks that you have to drive like this, but I always act like everyone is out to hit me or brake check me. Glad you’re ok there. You should’ve walked over to the wendy’s And asked some people to help you right your 40 because you were late for a doctors appointment.

Sorry about the damage to your 40, but I'm glad you're OK.

I've had people in front of me slam on their brakes at green lights at 40-50 mph a couple of times in the past and almost hit them. Those near-misses taught me that I was following too close at that speed to account for people doing stupid s***. I learned my lesson and barely notice people doing s*** like that anymore. I think it was Mark Twain that said something along the lines of, "Better to be careful 1000 times than to get kilt once". :)
