      I would not cut them flush. When time to reinstall them it helps to have enough thread to compress the springs. I think we left an inch on ours.

      Why don't you contact Dave at 4 Plus and see if he would be willing to sell you the components. Might save you some $$$. I know he recently posted about the price of steel getting out of hand.

      I checked on line and with my parts friend at the dealer and it's discontinued. The local classic car guys use a shop close to me, and seem to have a good reputation. Will visit with them and see what develops. Thank you all for posting up. Jim

      I have searched and can't find any thing recent that applies. Looking for OEM style that tucks up and is quiet. Any one with experience on 79 through 83 models please chime in. Thanks.

      Very nice work. Been following your stuff for years. I would like to know the length of the belt spinning the alternator and power steering pump. The belt on my 2FE could be shorter. I'm running out of adjustment for the power steering. Thanks, Jim
