5 33x12.5R15 tires, 2 1/2" lift kit, springs, shocks and u-bolts and Lucas Hot Rod oil.

Warning -- this is a :repost: from my build thread. Busy day at work and my attentions have been focused elsewhere, so with that noted here you go:

A big Thank You to Flamur and @RockAuto -- they found the 40 to be magnet worthy and sent over a bunch of samples.

You'd think I just had my first born the way I've been handing them out to people (vs. cigars). The Mrs. is lucky we have stainless steel appliances -- otherwise the fridge would be covered. :)

I need one of your stickers! I have like 20 on my fridge in the garage...

Here we go again!

Introducing yet another project.
My new to me 1971 FJ40.

I probably won’t have much progress for a few months becuase work sucks.

Plus I’m currently preparing for another NC to CA Trip in my 80. This time to attend RUBITHON 30.

Oh and I still have to finish my first gen truck.

Either way. It’s good to be back in the 40 section.

I will start a build thread once I have made some progress.

Said goodbye... They came and picked it up a day early. *sniff....

Going all the way to New York City. I made a deal with the buyer he would take a picture with the statue of liberty in the background.

The LED madness continues: Even though the OEM dome light on the door pillar is pretty effective ... THIS is a dome light. I'm adding a similar set up to the sleeping area of my 4runner but I think a dimmer will be mandatory :grinpimp:

I've been on an interior lighting mods kick but sorta went the opposite direction and pulled out the HID/LED/Whatever headlights in favor of the some OEM sealed beams. I'm sorry, but people flashing their lights at you on a two lane road because they think you have your brights on is not a good thing, no matter how many 5 star amazon reviews proclaim so :bang:. The stock lights do fine without blinding other drivers IMO.

On that note, anybody want to buy some lights?

John, what lights are you running in your interior? I have been planning to run led strip lights in my 40 for a few years. Looks great .

Are those city racer headlights? Interested. PM me.

@RAGINGMATT send some of that to us please

I've used a number of the LED strings off Amazon and I like these best. They're cheap but have the stickiest backing and come with connectors. 16ft is not quite enough to wrap completely around the top, I went door to door around the back because I have a separate set up front

Looked at the Amazon listing you provided. It says a power adapter is required but since the LED's are 12 volt I would think the adapter isn't needed. Stupid question I know, just wanted to be sure.

Correct. The power adapter referenced is only needed if you want to plug them into your wall socket. They come wired to a female barrel plug but I just cut that off and wire straight into my 12V circuit

Wise decision;). I am curious what type and size hose fitting you used. Guessing it must be BSPT? I need to address my hose that sprung a leak while I was driving.
I took my hoses down to the local hydraulic shop, they crimped new hose on to the original fittings. Only the hose part and crimp sleeves are new, the fittings are still original. I told them that they were used with motor oil and the pressure was less than 100 psi (safety margin), they selected a Gates 300 psi bulk hose and fixed them up. Wasn’t expensive, less than $35 for the pair.
