I drove my 45 for the first time after installing a 12HT.

I decided to chase the smell of gas in the cab finally. Came to the conclusion that most of the smell was coming from the manual brass three way valve that controls either stock or aux tank. Figured why stop there and pulled the stock tank to inspect it. All looked pristine from the top side but looks could deceive.

Where the stock pads sat between the floor and tank, rust had eaten away at it. No leaks yet but as soon as I hit it with a wire wheel the pinholes
showed themselves.

Just decided to replace it and take my chances with the CCOT replica for half the cost of OEM. Wasn't satisfied with the primer coat it came with so I sprayed it down with gloss black.

The tank fit perfectly. I added rubber pads to insulate between the tank and tub. I didn't have any problems getting it to fit like some folks have reported. It's plumbed up and working great. Removed the old brass valve for now and gas smell is completely gone.

Mixed emotions! Happy its going to a good home and will get the frame off it deserves. Happy now i can move onto a 42 that ive been after for awhile

Sad cause i hunted for a decade for a affordable 45.

Happy i have garage room again haha.

Made a promise to myself for my 50th birthday in 12 years ill buy another 45. One thats completed

Custom motor mounts for the Cummins came in. All 1/4" steel, powder coated, urethane bushings and 5/8" grade 8 bolts, frame mount ears. All this, including shiping from Wyhoming to Texas, for $155, felt it was too good a deal to pass up, and saves me the time of fabbing some up.

The soft top failed about a month ago so I took the opportunity to assemble the hard top pieces I have been accumulating and put on the fold down tailgate. Some day it will all be the same color.

Finally got around to finishing up the install on the 28 gallon MAF fuel tank.

The sill-corners-why-not-replace-the-floor-too project continued...

Spent too much time measuring, cutting and fitting CCOT corners. For me, they were NOT plug 'n play, but should be ready to tack in.

The sill cap I had bent locally appears to line up with corners and replicate the OEM setup.
