Here is a few more pic s of the new audio equip, forgot to mention the model #'s, stuck with all pioneer since they have been good to me in the past. It was a painless install and well worth the money, very low buck as well, got the speakers for $27/pair off amazon & the head unit from crutchfield for $129, this is the best bang for the buck upgrade I have done.
WTF today i asked for that same sound system and they said the least they could do was $250,i was thinking of buying it for christmass, but now i'm sure as hell not buying it
This is the way things should be done.Used my 80 to pull the engine out of my 60My 8-year-old at the winch control: .........................................................................................................................
Removed all the old tint from my windows. 2 hour job.
Finally found another HDJ81 to import, couldn't be more excited! '93, 88,XXX kms, 3X lockers, winch, looks to be lifted on 285's, a few things I'll need to change (purple tint, decals, chrome piping on window visors, etc), but it should do nicely. I won't be able to take delivery until next August so it will remain in Japan until closer to then, but at least I know it's in the pipeline and can start planning for then!
Ooooooooo!!!!
Keeping on subject, upgraded my dads brakes...
Also while I was in there I retrofitted the spindle bushing from the brass to the needle bearings version which resulted in less play on the end of the Birf insid the spindle. Hopefully it will help stop the leaking inner axle seal which was new...
Replaced old plugs, wires, cap, rotor and dizzy o-ring. Got the dizzy all out of wack with the crank and had to assemble/disassemble about 3 times before I realized that I was 180deg off at the crank. Oh we'll, I was able to clean a lot on the right side of the motor while I was there. She's running smooth as a sewing machine now.

Then this weekend prepped for the winter with my fall detail of the paint, Meguires 3 step, compound, polis, carnubba with an electric buffing machine.
I just bought my first 80 about a week ago. Changed all oils including front and rear diffs, trans, transfer case. I need to do a coolant flush soon too.
What did you do to the hole for the hand throttle![]()
