Nice Bumper!

Removed the ARB and installed a new front bumper built by wasnt me of Redeye Fabrication.

Need to reinstall the winch later this week

That is the best looking bumper I have seen. Is that custom or can it be bought?

I agree. Very nice bumper. Might be the angle of the pics but it looks really close to the body in these pics.

To keep it on topic I changed my oil with Mobil 1 10w30 and used my last 20004 filter:bang: and lubed my joints and driveshafts.

That's what I was gonna do until I opted for custom/first production run.
That's all I did to my 80 this weekend. Dropped off at fab shop... Standby for ordering / availability.

Thank you, it was built by a buddy of mine who is a fabricator and he goes by "wasnt me" here on mud. He might be willing to build more so look him up on here on PM him.

Yeah, I noticed that when I saw the front shot of your truck with the sway bar disconnects. Ended looking at your truck page on the CSC site, very nice build.

Thank you, i am very happy with how it came out. It does tuck up pretty close to the body but the pictures make it look closer than it really is.

Got it put back together. Winch in the stock bumper trick.

Thanks to all for the positive feedback. No tools require to connect or disconnect...takes less the 2 minutes Production started waiting for hardware. Buy-it-now thread around the corner:D

Can't wait, do you happen to have any pics of the discos?

Nice power found

As stated earlier, I PM'd my 3FE's ignition with new OEM plugs, wires, cap and rotor and changed the distributor O-ring while I was there (it was leaking badly). I marked the position of the dizzy, and got it back to that spot (eventually after 5 tries). Anyway, after a little research and reading, I decided to play with the timing a bit. I couldn't find a timing light, so I thought I'd go at it by ear/feel. I could always go back. Well...I ended up advancing the timing a bit and WOW, what an increase in the response and power. It actually feels more like a auto now than a tractor. My idle is still dead on at 650 rpms and she seems to actually idle smoother now. Some of it could be placebo effect, but there is definitely more zip and response.

I've owned her since March, and so I don't have any long time history, but I wonder if the PO had monkeyed around with the timing and set it back to far? Either way, she is running very smooth and has more pep. Probably just normal for some of you, but feels like a new ride to me!!

Shocks?

Which shocks did you go with in the rear, SnakeEater?
What differences do you notice in the ride now?

Replaced the OEM TLC shocks with OEM LX450's (did the same for the fronts a little while back)

The ride on the street is smoother, but I haven't had a chance to wheel with them, so the jury's still out :hhmm:

I got a brake job (front and back).

Replaced front main seal and oil housing gasket, along with new belt and a new throttle cable......started the insall of the stereo but that will have to wait til tomorrow.

Took my 80 into the Wahiba Desert with another 80, a TJ, and a newer Hilux. Broke the hood cable, the passenger door makes a great noise, and the AC compressor bearing bit the bullet. However, it got me home towing the broken TJ :)

I drove the LX for the first time since buying it more than three months ago

I just finished changing my front brakes and an oil change, no pictures, 168,981 miles right now :D

quick question, how often do you change or service your back brakes? i dont ever recall my dad doing anything to the back brakes, and well i havn't done anything to them either

Kevin if you are lifted you might want to check your brake bias via the proportion ing valve. If it wasn't adjusted you could be getting very little braking out of the rear and that's why you or your dad have never needed to work on them.
