Sold the 80 today, a guy bought it for his wife who was expecting a baby. I felt proud to sell it but sad at the same time. The whole drive to the sale, I kept telling "LC" to be as good to the owners as she was to my family. With a new valve cover gasket, which I included with the sale, she will be good as new!

I told the guy to join MUD, without it and a few fellow cruiser owners I would be lost.

I wanted to thank all of you guys and gals who have responded to my posts and helped me get through fixes and questions. I still have my 40 so I will be lurking and checking up on you guys!

you kept the right one

Glad we got it done, Pete!

Finally got around to swapping out my leaking steering box with a rebuilt unit from West Texas Off-road. Many thanks to Alberto (AlbertoSD) for lending me a hand and his expertise, it made the project go that much smoother.

Needless to say as seen in the second picture, I was a little to quick to install the sliding yoke onto the gear box and didn't have it aligned properly and now my steering wheel is off about a quarter of a turn. So that will be corrected this weekend.

Rack, winch, and Bumper

Bought an extended Megawarrior off Craigslist for $200 and mounted to stock rack for now. Mounted my winch plate and started building a front tube bumper. Got materials for less than $70, I hope the " you get what you pay for" doesn't apply:doh:

^^ That lift looks nice! Want...

Hopefully this weekend i can fix the VSV problem, bought the Dorman valve, got it in just by loosening the upper intake brace on top, swung it over and get it done! Then...i realized i broke the nipple off the purge valve next to it! Tried to glue, no go! Ordered a new one from Cdan, hope it gets here today!

Its gunna be a muther to get it in and all lines hooked up! WTF was toyota thinking when they put those valves there? Ughh

Wow, that shot really brings back memories and I've never been there. What happened to the moose?

They took him back to Northwest Trek Park I would guess. No moose are locals for Roslyn :-)

Installed OME 2.5" med lift. No issues. Still have casters to do. Amazing difference in the drive.

Extended breather line off front and back diff. For the life of me, could not find the transfer and auto breathers. Will look again later.

I truthfully haven't done anything to my 80. Removed rear axle shafts out of a buddies jeep and that's about it. On an exciting and slightly cool note I did see a global adventure (G4 competition) land rover just by chance in the parking lot at A basin colorado. I didn't get to talk to them but it was the real deal. I also saw a dakar motorcycle that the guy was using as an overland motorcycle to head back north after the race a few months ago. He had that thing packed.

They have transfer and auto breathers? I din't know that. I might have to find those someday.

Installed new fuel sock. Meh..although serviceable item, wonder if necessary since the old one looked ok after 20 tears. It may be wishful thinking but I may feel a little more pep off the line. Nice opportunity to clean carpet though :-)
