Well I was wrong on your FB page for what it was. But all makes sense now. It really is a tool for gouging out your eyeballs when you are at your Wits' End.

Blinker fluid is getting low...

Use to make a killing selling blinker fluid back in the day, but now with E-Commerce / China competition, I barely sell a quart a week.

Do me a favor and pay close attention to the crank trigger sensor. I would love to see some pics how Toyota did it on the 105. If it's internal, magnet in the balancer, etc. thanks!

Dont feel too bad. I also joined the DD club for the same reasons. Paid $2500 for an IS300. Fun to drive. My 80 will be getting a heart transplant. Started tearing into my coilpacked 1FZ-FE from AU. Not bad only 1 hour to remove the head. Working on an engine stand makes this all a breeze. Plan on rebuilding the engine. Not sure how bad the "while your in there" sickness will be, but trying to keep it contained. Been traveling just got back from Cartagena Colombia on a magazine photoshoot for one our Land Cruiser Heaven FJ43 restorations.

Are we talking about the sensor right behind the crankshaft pulley?

If it helps, a 105 has PN 19315-66010 "rotor, crank position sensor" on the crank, and 90919-05041 "sensor, crank position" in the upper oil pan

A 97 LC has the same PN rotor, but a different part 90919-05022 "sensor, crank position" in the upper oil pan.

The timing covers and crank pulleys have different part numbers but I don't see anything indicating a sensor of any kind.

I can't find anything else in the diagrams that suggest crank/cam angle sensing.

Edit: i did find a cam sensor 90919-05026 It's called "Sensor, crank position No.1" though.. it is in the head and is between cylinders 4&5. I don't see any kind of tone ring.. might need to wait on that teardown thread.

I changed shaft and arm to new OEM ones from Land Cruiser 105 made after 2005 year.
I am doing the same on a spare box I bought.

Question for the experts: I am adding a small power steering fluid cooler at @beno 's recommendation. Would you guys remove the OEM paperclip cooler (eliminating a failure point) or just run the new one in series (increasing the cooling capacity that much more)?

That's what I did. Zero regrets.

Ummm. I gave two options: Eliminate OEM paperclip or keep it. :hmm:

I'd love to know which option you have no regrets over. o_O:D

Why would i want to do this mod? Is the paperclip a failure waiting to happen? I have never noticed any issues with my steering.
