Still waiting for him to finish up. I’ve been dealing with an intermittent issue somewhere causing the fuel pump to shut off. I think I’ve narrowed it down to the resistor. Hoping it’s done on Monday and I can post some numbers and dyno vids!
Soon, we left it in as long as possible because we only have four bays. That generally means we got to cycle Cruisers around but now that it is bare metal, it won’t be outside unless we are working on it.
He is where we finished today.
Cheers
I personally don’t care for a PC chassis. Anyone who has had PC sliders knows rocks chip PC. Paint can be touched up over the years, PC nope. Also a botched PC job six months after completion is a serious no thanks. A bad job generally won’t show...
Take the nuts off and throw them away, brush the threads with a brass or stainless brush, put new nuts on. You can pull the center cap off and toss it and replace it with new. All very cheap parts.
Nuts are <$1.00ea
Caps are $1.78ea
Thanks, got a guy here in atl who specializes in haltech, and does a lot of Supras. Also has his own 97 land cruiser as well so he’s excited to take this on. Just have to get an appointment with him which is proving to be difficult.
I was looking back at my notes and realized since I put this 3FE back together I’ve literally not touched anything under the hood. It’s like a 100, I don’t even check the oil before a big trip. Zero issues.
The only thing this thing needs is...
The cost is negligible it’s usually around $75 for 3 pulls, there isn’t any tuning so there is no need to rent the dyno. Just pay for 3 pulls before and 3 pulls after. $150 and you would have before and after, hp, torque and fueling plotted...
Certainly is your prerogative but this isn’t really true. Especially with the later 80’s with the 2nd gear start button.
You can put the gear selector in 2, press the 2nd gear start button and you can make pulls from just off idle to redline...
Chalk board math
In a system without parasitic loss it would be 1+(12/14.7) * 212hp and 275ft/lbs.
So = 385hp and 499ft/lbs, you will have parasitic loss, efficiency loss, reduced timing, hopefully you can see 250-270awhp
IT LIVES!
Had work work out a bunch of dumb issues. Battery terminals corroded while it was out, and was not getting good power. Had to mess with some settings on the Haltech base map since it was set up for 105 series COP. Finally started up and...
