Trip report. Lots of mods that I’ve made to this truck since the Swine Soirée.....

One at a time.

FJ60 power steering.

I can’t compare apples to apples since I went up to 35s from 33s but the new set up really dod well with the big meats. No tire rub on the push:pull link anymore which is outstanding.

The Dobinsons solid gold stabilizer really controls the tires well too.

This is a great mod. Use a late 60 or 80 box.

Shackle Reversal.

Once I got used to the new feel of the nosedive when braking I realized it was not swaying badly on sharp curves. Tracking is good with 2* caster.

The tires run the full area of the wheel well. Not sure how I would have ever gotten this tire under this truck with a traditional shackle setup.

Videos.

I was watching that first video in camp and saw extra wobble in my wheel (and my clunk noise) and thought my wheel spacers had come loose.

Pulled the wheel and the spacer was tight but my hub was loose.

No 54mm socket but I did have the A1 chisel. Im now that guy.

Rear MRR Dobinsons. These things are really legit for $300 shocks. I did not do a ton of tuning but I plan on messing with them more for the low speed stuff.

This truck is top heavy with or without the 150# in awning and tent. On road it tracks great with barely any leaning.

On trail, it rocks back and forth a lot. I need to work on some slow speed tuning.

A refried Shipley donut in bacon grease is a life changing culinary experience.
Looks like it's working good, but I don't know about that fried donut.

1) Bacon goes with everything!
2) Is that a natural trail test track or did you dig a twisting rut to drive through for fun and testing flex? Jelly!

My buddy finally sold this M1105 that’s been at my house 3 years. Dude showed up last night to winch it up on the trailer but I had a better idea. Plus I needed to test the pintle I got from @Racer65

The Dobinsons IMS shocks I put on my Pig seem to have a bit too much rebound so I attempted to let a little Nitrogen out of them and flattened them completely 🤦‍♂️

I’m trying to get this one ready for a little trip this weekend while I thrash on the Limo as parts come available.

With two flat shocks I was dead in the water but.......

I just purchased a full suspension kit for my 60 with the adjustable MRR Dobinsons shocks so I went back to my storage and swiped the rear shocks and bolted them into the back of the Warthog

What the hell....I’d already destroyed $500 in shocks (Dobinsons is fixing them for me)

This post made me feel better that I am not the only one with these learning experiences...

Thanks for confirming - it does look like a fair bit of work!

Im for sure liking it more every time I drive it.

Leasons learned......the front reversal towers are legit buy i would have bought some Ruff Stuff shackles and shackle hangers and not just booger welded the front hangers back on the frame.

I also would have gotten a hoop style shock tower because it would be much easier to adjust the top of the shock with those.

I’m always learning. Hope this helps the next guy. I really need to follow up again with Man a Fre on that kit. It’s not suitable as they sell it for a FJ55 except for the front towers.

Thread confession. When I was fixing my loose hub in Arkansas I realized my left front caliper was not working.

I was pawning off the pulling to the right in hard braking to the caster being sacked and me trying to get used to the shackle reversal brake dive.

Well I fixed that caliper today

This brake bleeder is the greatest thing ever.
Ever.

Also I’ve been running through O2 sensors on all my Sniper trucks pretty regularly and found this little guy with great reviews that makes them read right but gets them out fi the killing heat.

Then I jumped in the Warthog and went to inspect the cleanup on the oL Milk Jug in prep for its own Cop motor

Speaking of Cop motor.

This thing just continues to amaze me ...... this is with 50 gallons of gas and 35s

(Ignore the volts, the Sniper readout hates my external regulator. That’s incorrect)

Last light in the clover. This thing is such a beast.

I got a new speedo cable from @cruiseroutfit and a new speedo from @Pigeaten

I was pretty stoked to possibly get my speedometer and odometer back so I tore into the Warthog with gusto.

speedo was a win. The part was right.

new odometer? Man

I re wires everything. Added the new Speedo. Went to plug in the cable.

Wrong plug.......

I cleaned my old one up as best I could without dissecting the odometer and damn

speedo. No odo.
