Wasn't me, but I like Tap Magic. I don't care for the synthetic ones they seem to gum up my drill vise.

I added all new swaybar rubber and links today. The swaybar ends are still the stock length so that’s a bit lame. All my bushings were shot.

That took way too much time. All the bolts and bushings were dead.

What year is that sway bar? It looks different the early 55 ones, which are the same as 45's.

1977. Specter was the only place I could find the kit.

They must have changed the sway bar at some point then. The frame bushings are still available at Toyota.

@under_psi had an old winch bumper I cut this mount plate off of.

I’ve got it trimmed up and will bolt it into the bumper and frame.

The only welding I will need is some stout tabs for the fairled

Now to do my favorite thing....drill holes. Ugh.

You really should just cut that horrible bumper monstrosity off. Pretty sure there are no kangaroos in your neck of the woods

Bite your tongue. It’s beautiful as the pig itself

Ignoring the distractions from some non-Pig owner and the traitors that liked his slight on the Roo bumper, I pressed on and finished up the mount.

I’m very pleased. It is tight but it works. Now to figure out where to mount the box

I’ll likely have Lou tack those brackets to the frame as backup. They will take most of the load.

Gotta figure out the fairlead tabs after I get the truck back up and running

I spent the entire afternoon figuring out and fabbing yo the fairlead Mount. I like it though.

I grabbed another chunk of 3/16” angle and started carving it up with my portaband and cut off wheel

Nice work on the winch (and everything else). Love the way you've put this Pig together. Any of us can buy new parts. Some of us make do with what we can scrounge or make ourselves.

What does the recurve/refurbish run? I have a message into Jim, but have not got a response yet. need to get my non-US small cap dizzy recurved as it gives too much advance under load after the desmog.

Got the Carb and dissy yesterday FINALLY. Damn UPS.

Carb went on smoothly.

I read everything I could on getting the motor top dead center. Checked my valves. Wound the BB to the line and the dissy slid right in as advertised.

Fired it up. Set the timing to 10* and it purrs at 750-800 rpm.

It smoked horribly when it started and I was freaking out a bit but everything burned off (new exhaust gaskets and all the cleaning stuff)
