When I built my rear end housings I already had 3.5" back spacing wheels and built the widths to put my tires exactly where I needed them to keep the pig low with the 35" tires and not rub. Had I put more thought into it I would have built the housings for 4" backspacing knowing I wasent planning to keep the current wheels and finding new wheels would have been a lot easier.

Yes kind of......
I'm going back and forth between 15" and 17" wheels, I like the 15" tire but when the wheel gets wider it gets a little tight around the hub cap. I'm leaning towards the 17" wheel to (A) make the tire look a bit smaller and (B) open up the area around the hub cap. If had had your skill and resources I would build a couple of each and just bolt them on to see what I like best.

In a perfect world I could find some of the US Mags Plane Jane U475 wheels in 15" to see in person to see exactly what the inner rim ID is compared to a standard steel rim, Just looking at the photos it appears it has a different profile and might open that space around the hubcap.

Hey Jim,

Is the new paint that special industrial paint you used before and just different color?

The guy I had try to paint the pig didn't have the right spray equipment to apply the paint I used last time and wanted to use Imron low sheen instead so that what's on there now.
At some point I'll need to repaint it to fix all his BS and not sure if I'll just stick with the Imrom or go back to the Acrolon.

Doozy was not one of the words I’d have chosen to describe the “painter” but this is a PG site so we’ll just go with doozy.

It’s unfortunate because I still believe he’s capable of doing descent work, it just didn’t happen on my job. Arguably some of my issues are nitpicky and others border on negligence but for 23K I shouldn’t be dealing with any of it.

On a positive note John @SLOCRUISER just went out of his way to get me a care package and I can dig into my rear doors now.

Just got the quote back for the wheels $1200.00 EA before powder coat so I’m going to put those on the back burner until I finish a few other things that need my time and money.

Raining nonstop so I only have limited pictures and I know some of you guys don't like just words on these post, sorry but this is all I got.

Guess I ought to be thrilled I got mine done inside and outside, panels off and basically down to bare metal outside with a fair amount of body work, and base coat/clear coat in factory colors for $4700, bumpers and grille included. It was nine years ago. Don't think my guy would do it again for that kind of money. Left it with him for 6 months and let him work on his schedule.

No or very little body work needed to be done, most everything was addressed when I built it the first time and I bought good parts to replace the damaged parts in my last indiscretion.
