Got these things from the Philippines and they worked great. I can actually lock my car now!

As you can see I just switched to the flat back piece and bend some stuff a bit cause they are a little longer and good to go.

I am going to go to the Solid Axle Summit. So my friends convinced me that a trip to Las Vegas drivinging the Cruz at the end of July would be a good shake down trip!

I don’t think I am going to argue with that. With all that no drinking stuff, that all falls away when you go on a trip!

Plus they said it was a perfect opportunity to make the money to pay for the SAS trip!

‘What?’ I say. ‘Count me in! Let’s throw them dice!’

Took the rig out to Las Vegas, and did some moderate wheeling.

At the hotel the back window would not roll up. Augh! Ended up messing with it and got it up but now it was definitely broken.

Got home and after some taking apart realized that the flat slide pins that hold the window to the little tracks had been put in the wrong way. Each time the window was rolled up the little tabs would hit the inside walls of the tailgate. Stupid!

Now, with parts that I had bought a million years ago, I was able to get this thing together.

It works better than I can remember!!!

Yea!!!

Tomorrow I leave for SAS! Heard it’s a blast. Going to go with a buddy that has been going for years.

Now I gotta find another gear as a spare.

Pretty sure I just saw a thread about these things.

Got back from the longest trip in quite a while, all the way out to Colorado and back! It got me home. What a treat. I have not been on a trip over five days in too long!
Some things did pop up though and now begins the quest to solve.

NOISE
One of the original things on the list was to be able to listen to the radio without turning up to full volumn. Well, that was not achieved. I did notice some areas where I can improve. 1- How did you all seal the off the hole where the 4x4 shift lives? All I have currently is the weak little shift boot. It is nice and clean and pretty but pretty much it is an open hole between the cab and the transmition which seems louder than the engine.
2-The transmition is a 5speed. At a certain RPM it lets out a whistle that can dominate the interior of the cab. I was thinking that perhaps I could be low on fluid, but is there a trans fluid that could help squash that sound?
