Toyota Part Number 90112-10016
Don’t let these plebeians talk you into using inferior non-OEM bolts.
If the packaging doesn’t say Toyota on it then it doesn’t belong on your Toyota!
Next step is here.. My PnB neighbor has made room in his client inventory for my patina green/white recovery.. She's getting moved over this morning.. JimTLC has the carb, but we're pushing/pulling her over... I'll get some current pics up later...
Called 4 alignment shops and all said the 55 is too old for their computers, the one old school shop said their alignment guy is out for 2 months after having neck surgery….thought I’d try and see what I could fix in the mean time.
Ok! We got a plan moving forward. Shackles, gone, new bushings ✅, @Blastservices i usually always go 5ish pounds over what the FSM says but if I’m still having issues after all the other fixes I might go back in there.
Can someone confirm...
I've been using Zeke to support a Rendezvous about 30 min south of us for the last week. Today I took a short break to learn some more about where I can go with him.
We drove down onto Sycamore Creek by broaching it's bank and drove around a bit...
I am a complete nube when it comes to suspension. The deepest I’ve ever dove in before was changing shocks. So I have no idea if going back to stock shackles would help.
If I’m measuring a pinion angle of 7.2 isn’t that bad? From what threads I was able to find I am under the impression it shouldn’t be more than 1 degree.
All bearings are new. Shimmed correctly using SST, preload was set to factory spec. New...
I have a 78’ 55 with an Alcan lift put on by one of the PO’s. I have no clue what lift height the springs are meant to be.
There are no caster shims currently installed. I’m trying to chase down some serious road wander and think the lack of...
@thorslc1977 thanks for the city racer OEM dizzy plug. I’ve had my eye on that one. I’ll see what ends up shaking out with this D.U.I and if it’s no bueno I’ll probably go that direction. I’ve heard tails of these aftermarket dizzys walking up...
Watching this thread. Just did one in my 55 and the only thing I couldn’t find was foam that was worth a crap to replace the disintegrated 40 year old foam. 🍿🍿🍿
HA! Thanks @Pighead. Funny you say that cause I have both the dizzy wrench and the screw driver for adjusting idle speed in the rig for the foreseeable future.
Ok I got it now. Thank you everyone.
The D.U.I. dizzy was on the rig when I bought her. I’ll jump on there website and see if there is tuning info. If not maybe I’ll shoot them an email. Or search the interwebs.
To be honest I’d like to go back...
To be more accurate. If you want to set your timing at 7 degrees or 10 or 12 or whatever. Set your timing light at that desired number you want, then adjust the timing by lining up the pointer and the tdc mark. Or set the light to zero and...
Thank you @aztoyman !
So if I’m understanding your post correctly I need to set my timing light to ZERO
(in my picture above I was tuning carb so it is set to RPMS)
and when the window pointer is on the BB I’m at 7 degrees advanced. And the...
Good morning folks.
Been going down the timing/distributor rabbit hole on mud and I’m currently second guessing my timing light procedure 😳. My goal is to tune the 2F properly after getting rid of a Webber carb in favor of the city racer...
