Kinda cool

Said the old tie rod ends were worn out ... looked not very old :meh:

3/4 ton chevy tre's with big tires wear out quick. Last time I ran a set I would kill an the drag link end at the pitman arm every 15k miles.

At least I get 30 out of my fzj80 ends!

Interesting items. However, the '74 FJ40 steering arms at the wheels where the TRE's attach looks very different than my '70 FJ40.

20 years from now, when that rig has been purchased on E-Bay, the buyer will be scratching their head trying to figure out what replacement tie rod ends to get to fix it...

It also had high steer arms and the drag link did not attach to the passenger tie rod end rather it attached to the steering arm... Definitely not a stock style replacement.

I thought the same thing. I was thinking "nice saginaw conversion"! But very good idea.

Thought about it; laughed about it; forgot about it!
