Thanks very much to both for the info. That solved two immediate problems.
Now, on to removing the crank guard so I can slooowly turn the crank and set the points.
Took it for a quick spin around my hood and drove perfectly fine. In fact I’m now convinced that I’ve had this leak happening over the period of the last couple weeks where my steering was harder to navigate in my driveway and now their things...
Well, it fits really, really, well. The floor may need to move up a little for the atlas, and my upper link needs to swap sides, but I have over 6" to the front of the radiator and condenser, and just as much to the firewall.
My truck is a wheeler that Ive been bringing back from trail trucks to use for wheeling and traveling. I came up backpacking so living simply is what I know. But I bought a fridge when I was building my 80 and Ive never looked back. This 1976 40...
Put the cap on the reservoir and drive it. If it's not growning any air will work it's way out. You may want to use some of this type of Heat Shroud Aluminized Sleeving Heat Shield around the hoses.

71Forty is back in the main shop
I took the fresh powdered seat frames and added some Cruiser Corps black covers. They match the Scheel-Mann nicely
The Wizard finished up the passenger seat base
This is a combo of the Corbeau bracket...
Dropped hump at paint this morning and then met up with the wizard this afternoon to fit the seats
This is going to be a sweat setup. Plenty of leg room on the driver seat and we set the passenger just like the 74 seat I have here
This one...
Lol. Not sure how I fat fingered that.
leefecr = nice
I’ll send you pics. I’d rate them 7 out of 10 on condition. Price is free if they pass muster for ya.
Getting ready to install new wire harness and halogen light kit on the cruiser. Factory Toyota parts, all the connectors are packed with dielectric grease, and everything looks to be high quality. Should be a major improvement over my current...
Here is the part number 53112-90300. It does stand off a bit from the bezel. Toyota calls it a spacer. They were over tightened on my 68 FJ40 when bought it in 1974. Shaped more like donuts than a tube.
This should prove to be a fruitful weekend if the heat doesn’t get crazy..although, they said Philadelphia May reach 97…I am not that far away
by the way… the red and white packages on the top are from @ToyotaMatt …they are watertight…
