It's actually a technical term in FSM's, but generic to any gasket maker in a tube

I edited quickly to remove FIPG from my reply but not quick enough LOL
I just assumed he wanted to know which specific FIPG. I mean anyone going on a gazillion posts in a Toyota forum would know FIPG - right? :rolleyes:

Step 1 - confirm we are indeed talking FIPG, then step 2 - which type.
 
Okay Bob, here’s what’s going on.

Took the block, crank, rods/pistons, and heads to this engine machinist in Sedona.
So, his name is Jim Hackley, and according to him, owned a substantial engine building facility in Denver throughout the 70’s and early 80’s before moving to Sedona. He also built and raced a lot of the engines for his personal drag racing cars, including a blown 426 Hemi powered T-bucket that he claimed to have run a high 7 second pass with. He’s got pics on the wall - looked scary!
He also claims to have owned a parts store, paint and body shop, and other automotive related shops/services in the Denver area at that time. (If anyone from the Denver area can confirm, please chime in)

Anyways, he checked out the crank first and confirmed that it was in perfect condition. The block, rods, and heads were left to him for attention. Since he still has a ton of connections to parts sources, it looks like he’ll be able to get pretty much everything I’ll need as far as engine components, with the exception of the cam, which he left up to me to get.
