For the plating, I’m trying to make a list of what I should get plated. So what do I do? Head to my go-to, “how-to” restoration thread, SLOW 71, and roll the dice on page 30. Bingo!
Cadmium #2 he says...

Umm, awesome! Thanks Jim👍👍

Was trying to find your install of the Lokar hood release, and could not find it! On page 34 there’s a pic of the newly installed fuse box with the release handle below. Backtracked to page 14 and still couldn’t find it😕 I know it’s there somewhere, I’ve only looked at it about a dozen times. Anyways, I wouldn’t go with that Lokar setup because it looks factory or makes me feel like I’m in an authentic vintage automobile, I’d go with it because it’s solid, works like it’s supposed to and looks good doing it.

Yes my build thread is a debacle, I tried to keep them on subject but ……….Well you know how that goes.

We are talking about “your” pig right?

I’m going to have to go back a few pages, I missed the part where you are taking this one back to factory original.

So yeah if you are keeping it all original then you’ll want to keep that flimsy piece of sheet steel and fight with it every time you want to open the hood.

Go back to our conversation about the 60 series column 🙃
Just to be clear you can only use Toyota bagged parts on your Toyota and you “MUST” post pictures of “EVERY” Toyota part you buy so we can confirm it’s in a genuine Toyota bag.

Failure to adhere to these rules will demote you down to the upside-down grill group.

And before you ask, yes we can spot a counterfeit Toyota bag.

And yes this applies to Toyota screws too, don't be caught using counterfeit screws.

I really don’t like to try and extrapolate on what the future plans are for the, ehm, cockpit area, it just seems so far off still. It’s funny how when I re-read through this thread every so often, how everything has completely changed and evolved, and how most “plans” ended up being scrapped in favor of better ideas. Honestly though, I’m loving this process (although it seems pretty slow) and how basically EVERYTHING is getting a makeover or some type of improvement that I’ve always wanted or needed to do.
The overall vision is a kind of retro-modernization. Don’t know how close I’ll end up to achieving that on my $5,000 budget. Either way I’m not really married to anything, and actually like the idea of swapping... parts, when possible, to you know, upgrade, if there’s a want or need to.
And now that I’ve stuttered and stumbled my way through that incoherent ramble, I’d like to thank all of you guys for all of your help, suggestions, brainstorming, internet searching, posting, liking, laughing, loving and overall participation in this thread and my daily life. Wouldn’t be where I’m at without you guys! Group hug!🥰
The Cruiser loves you all!
“Thanks guys!”

Got the seat mounts fabbed up. Only thing left to do is weld some mount points for a center console and paint them.

Now you can sit in it and make Vroom, Vroom noises.
