My shop model came out to admire the large nuts on this bumper and help me lift the heavy mofo on the lift table.

The lift table is also very helpful when drilling up into the frame

And how about that? This is really such a masterpiece of a bumper. This is what happens when a master CAD designer/fabricator/machine shop owner gets you. Beauty and brawn.

Maybe take some chains or a wire wheel to it… so shiny compared to the beautiful patina… it is beautiful in its own way of course!

There are front 8274 bumpers and then there is the OP Machine 8274 bumper

If I decide to put something on the front of my rig it will be that.

@Sweet Water and his dad made a cannonball run down here last night from Michigan. We met at 7:30 at Waffle House then came to the farm and properly tagged LPBlue then hit the road.

Both father and son were able to take a turn. Both were very pleased it seemed .

Mike did a two-fer on this deal and picked up a 67 fj40. He and I went over it and made a plan. I hope to get on it this summer.

Is that a wire to ground in your hand in the video? Your column must not have a sufficient ground at any of its attachment points. I see the column shift is no longer used (floor shift) so you’ve lost that grounding path. You obviously have positive through the column wire which is usually the problem.
I got it. I had the big washer under the thing that holds the center button and it could not make contact. Its fixed now.

I deleted the post. You would not believe how many people wont read the next couple posts and reply to a fixed problem.

Thanks for weighing in

I took LPBlue for a 20 mile ride. It was great. The top being on makes it a different animal. I need to tape up the seatbelts and tool rods. Any noise inside the cabin is so loud.

I’m excited about Mr Grant picking this thing up next week. I need a bit more seat time and then a 1/2 day in the shop to punch it out then I can turn it over

I tugged the current 40 project out and pulled LPBlue in for a final inspection and punch out.

I added the light back and a fresh bulb and it fired right up.
Gun rack reinstalled.

The interiors of these things are incredibly loud. I taped up the seat belts and jack rods with some gaffer tape to keep the clinking down

Added all the bolts back to the top and stuffed a little dum dum here and there to seal it more

Everything under the hood and under the truck got a wrench on it to check for loose stuff.

The City Racer rubbers look fantastic.

And I gave it my final seal of approval. Off to drive it some more.

I loaded up the old PTO winch and the tool box. I hacked the legs off of the box so it would ride in the bed on the ride home. This weight is great for the ride!

I also never noticed this tire carrier the P.O. had bolted TO THE OUTSIDE of the bed.

Crazy. I hope Mr Grant writes the guy a letter. I’d love to hear his story.

Tomorrow this one heads to Lake Michigan.

I took it for the final long drive. All systems are go.

Filled it up with corn free.

Made my goal of rolling it to 44,444 which is about 150 miles testing.

Got back. Changed the oil from the break in oil

This was a BIG project and I appreciate all those that were a part of it.
