I am looking for a clean and mechanically tight 60 in the Fort Worth / Dallas area. My pride and joy - West Texas is turning 16 on 09/11 and gets his license on 10/16. I asked him to do research on any vehicle he wanted and to make an intelligent decision. My requirements were that he choose a vehicle that was 1. safe, 2. room for his two sisters in the back seat and that he would have to learn to care for the vehicle himself - oil change - tune ups and other minor maintenance issues. And he has decided on a FJ60 (not a FJ62). I am looking and pursuing some posts already listed - but thought that I would give the WANTED POST a try.

SOLD. I have an 88 FJ62 complete running parts vehicle that I would like to sell as a whole as I don't have the time to part it out. It needs parted out because the frame is bad. The front rear pass. spring hanger broke off the frame and the frame is really too shot to be fixed. Otherwise the truck runs and drives just great and I wouldn't be afraid to drive it to CA. Starts right up every time. When the hanger broke while wheeling, I rachet-strapped it back and drove it home about 60 miles. Wouldn't recommend that though. The transmission shifts really smooth and 4wd works great. There are no major leaks in the drivetrain at all. Truck has 250K miles on it. I would like to get $1000.00 for the whole truck. I am sure I could get a lot...

Just hit 138k miles today. I needed a truck for a bike trip this summer, was looking for a reliable truck, and this one is just that. Not a single problem the whole trip. It is really clean. It is all stock...okay, it has a k&n but that is about it. It has great power and will cruise at 70+ on frwy all day with no problems. It has had the transmission rebuilt by the previous owner...the bill was over 4k :eek: But it seems to have been done right, no humming, overheating etc. I have almost all the service history since it was new. Great paint. The racks are sold separately, let me know if you want em'. There is a rack for two on the back, cross bars, two on the top and a cargo box, all lockable. It has a 2 inch receiver.

A yard I deal with has an 88 (I think) FJ62 for sale. Basically a complete truck with PA title he wants $700 for it. Needs a a fuel pump (I have a used one if anyone needs it) to get it running. Guy said it ran and drove OK when he got it. Has of course the good wide axles under it with good disc brakes and fine spline 4.10 third members. Everything works. 4x4 systems are all good, records of tranny and tranfer case work 10k ago. There are some rusts under frame, but nothing major.

I have a blue 1985 BJ 60 diesel landcruiser with very little rust, just some on the inside of the drivers door, otherwise the wheel wells and the frame are very clean. It has 388,000km and drives like new. I purchased it off the second owner and has never been smoked in. I've seen alot of diesel landcruisers come my way and this is one of the nicest i've seen.

83 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60
250k, miles, original 2F rebuilt some 100k ago. 4spd & 4x4 work great. Starts like a champ. Runs & Drives great. Was my daily driver until the new pickup & has not been driven much since (2 yrs). Tan interior is in OK shape. Dash etc is in good shape. Driver's side seat worn through like every other FJ60. Minimal rust in the usual rear fender wells but not too bad. Some dings & scrapes that are not unexpected on a Cruiser this age.
I’ve done a lot of maintenance & kept meticulous records since I’ve owned it (2000) & I tried to compile the history from what came with the truck.
Good stuff:
Rebuilt front axle / knuckles: inspected, new seals, greased, diff fluid
Brake overhaul: new fr rotors...

I have an '88 FJ62 sitting in my garage taking up space. The vehicle body has had body rust repaired and is in great shape. The interior looks new, aside from normal aging and one tear on the driver's seat.

It ran when it was parked about 2 years ago. Currently, the exhaust system is nonexistent and the engine needs a little work.

Old Man Emu heavy springs, shackles and shocks provide some lift but currently has 31” tires. 2.5” Man-a-Fre exhaust installed last year.
The ARB bumper is NOT included at this price ($3600) but can be worked into the deal along with other goodies I have for sale in the parts fs section. Has some rust spots on the body but not bad at all for a New England truck. I will have some detailed pics soon so email me if you want them.

This is my trusty rusty old 1980 BJ60 for sale. 4cyl, 3B motor. Still running fine at 450,000km. External head gasket leak - wasn't broke enough to warrant pulling apart. Rebuilt the injectors 80,000 ago and checked them again in 2004.
Newer H55 tranny/tcase (approx 300,000, purchased from crushers rule 6 years ago). Very tight shifting, mild synchro issues 2nd and 3rd. The usual leaks.
PTO bumper, 3/16th steeland checker plate.
A few other recent parts including a rebuilt starter, alternator. Rear brake pistons and shoes 30,000 ago. New rotors and pads sitting in boxes.
Frame not bad with no major rot other than the usual flaking in the rear c-sections...
Problems? Rust... everywhere... The body is shot so it is time for...
