Glad you finalized the deal and took it home!
As Everyone Knows, 2005 is The Best Year for a 100 series!
Now to the comments you posted regarding the purchase experience…
“Sunroof does not open (called two companies, seems not worth fixing since I dont use it, might seal it up”
Who told you it’s not worth it to fix???.
Why would a repair shop make that decision for the car’s owner?
Diagnosis might not be easy, there’s several reasons why a sunroof won’t work, electrical and mechanical, but “sealing it” is the lazy solution, specially for a low miles (and high price I guess, you didn’t say what you paid for this thing) future classic vehicle
“Gauge cluster either reads wrong or doesnt at all, read low oil, stopped at Oreillys and checked, dipstick read full. Then another time I drove and the speed gauge just stayed at 0 I had to use my google maps that gave me real time speed. But after stopping in St George it started working for the rest of the trip.”
There’s no oil level gauge, there’s an oil pressure gauge. It is very erratic and not accurate at all, but the consensus is that as long as you have oil in the engine you’re good.
Cluster stepper motors going wonky is a common issue, not hard but pretty annoying to repair, specially since the repairs don’t last long either.
“Huge crack on window, was noted by Toyota, said they are selling it as is and too many people were offering so they didnt have time to repair. But they did help me a little for that.”
I guess you mean front windshield?
Search a lot about the repair of this one!
Not many things can kill this vehicle, a badly installed windshield is one of them.
“3rd brake light cracked. Easy fix it seems“
Expensive part for what it is, but take very good care when replaced, water leaks from that area are common.
“again dont know a damn thing about vehicles but theres is a suspension on it which I appreciated. They also gave me some tires and rims from a tundra. Some guy bought a tundra but wanted bigger tires so they took the stock ones off and put it on the LC. Which I appreciated.”
The “don’t know a damn thing about vehicles” comment is worrying when you just bought a 21yo car.. get to it!
When you say “finance guy”..
Did you financed this thing? It’s 21yo!
Tires, wheels, stereo, color, all a matter of taste, modify and adjust as desired.
All issues listed have solutions threads somewhere in this forum, just search..
Moderators here will remind you to search with every new question thread, and assist you with the results, but a Google search is sometimes easier and it’ll forward you to ih8mud correct threads.
Congrats and enjoy. 2005 with gray interior is BEST!
