I've been going back and forth between Superior Engineering and Dobinsons for my FZJ80 lift kit. I have heard mixed reviews from both brands, but mostly positive from Superior Engineering. It seems that Dobinsons is the go-to in the States; however, Superior offers more value in my eyes. I plan on achieving a 3-3.5in lift, with adjustable dampening. To fully kit out my vehicle, it would be double the amount of money if I went with the Dobinsons. My main questions and concerns are as follows:
Does anyone have experience with Superior Engineering (particularly in the States)?
Does the cost difference really affect the quality?
Am I overthinking this?

Thank you all.

I went with the full 3” Superior Engineering lift kit including the hyper-flex arms and the 2 stage extended shocks. I have just recently installed the kit but I am still a week away from getting my truck started after a new short block install. Even with the tariffs, the pricing with shipping to the states from Australia was close in price, within $700 back in October. I cannot tell you anything about how it works yet, but I only had one issue and that was installing the remote reservoir on the rear passengers side. The mount did not work for this location. I also had to remember that everything installs backwards since the trucks in AU are RH drive.

Oh I didnt even think about that. Did they offer instructions for the people in that States? And how are you/did you fix the resi location issue?

You are looking at the pricing in Australian Dollars. The Conversion rate to US dollars is very friendly to us.

Is it cheaper from AUS than the vendor in CA now? They want over $7k for the complete kit, and their price used to be basically AUS+shipping. I didn't check Superior.

I ordered directly from Superior, so I am not certain about the vendor in CA. My full lift kit with the added braided brake lines and rear sway bar was right at $7,000 to my door.

@hisandhers80s Have you gotten to test it out yet? I'm thinking about doing the superior kit like you but swapping out the coils for some Dobinsons 3.5" variable rate ones. Can't decide if should go with hyper flex or super flex radius arms, I don't really know how much more flex or advantage the hyper gives.

I have not tested it yet. I got the first start on my new short block last week, but I am on vacation this week and hope to have a few things sorted out next week to give it the first drive soon.
