This is the first LC I've ever bought... It has been featured in
Toyota Canada's Tacoma television campaign.
It is a '72 but with a 74F (basically a 2F) that was rebuilt (new
gaskets, seals, rings, bearings, machining) about 20k miles ago. 4
speed tranny with tcase from a 3 spd. Front discs, rear drums.
Belton 2.5" suspension, 35" MTR's. Rear axle springs have been
flipped which moved the rear axle back 4 inches and resulted in
better ride and more travel. 2 years ago, I reskinned the body and
repainted with the stock color in PPG paint.

Ive owned this for over 15years . It is now time to part with it :frown:as I dont use it much anymore and its in need of a good home .
Its got some rust in the front fenders and bib but I did put a 1st gen alloy tub on it . Its sits stock with all smog gearand about 105K miles. It does have a 9000# ramesy style worm gear winch. Hard top
Runs great just looks sort of sad but I would have no problems hopping in it and driving to anywhere

This is a solid truck and is my first cruiser. If I could lose this addiction and stop buying other cruisers I could keep her!!! Crack might have been cheaper for me!!! This this runs like a champ and wheels well. The inside of the tub is super clean, actually the whole inside is good. There is rust on the rockers on each side but only 6" round. I am having trouble...
Hate to do it but have to sell my 1980 fj40.
The good, mustard yellow, 115K miles. Factory power steering. Goodyear tires with 90% tread left. Has all the smog equipment still on there. It drives great. I have antique tags so I only drive it once a week or so, but it gets up to 75 mph easily on the highway. Jump seats are in excellent condition. Front seats need new upholstry, but I have good set of fj60 seats installed right now. All lights and switches work. New shocks, new fuel pump, oil changed (rotella), new radiator fluid. I have the soft top frame but the canvas is in bad shape.

well after having this thing for two years i'm sad to say i have to sell it the engine is recently rebuilt and runs strong 4x works great some of my friends called it the spider after seing it in the desert but the carb started going bad so im forced to sell it.

Looking to sell my 1977 FJ40 Land Cruiser. Located in Taft, CA (West of Bakersfield). Here are the particulars that I know of:
Engine in good shape but like any old dog, it likes to mark its territory (Small oil leak)
Drive it a lot and runs fine.
35" tires with Detroit Lockers on Front.
Black Interior. Front Seats are in poor shape but rideable, rears in excellent shape.
White in color with a little residual rust on edges (California cruiser)

Super clean fj40 brought up from Texas about 18 months ago. It has 49k on it but was rebuilt 12k ago. I paid $10,500 for it and have since:
Had wheels powder coated factory grey (still has original hubcaps);
Front disc brake conversion;
A/C installation;
Electronic ignition;
Weber carb;
AM/FM/CD/iPod installed;
There is no rust on this truck. I was hoping someone would take it for $12,500 before it goes on ebay.

I acquired this truck last sept. from a previous acquaintence. I needed a 4wd to get through the winter. It ran and stopped, but not well. The PO said it was serviced at a local LC specialist, that compression was @ 95%, that if there were any internal engine probs he would refund full purchace amount.
As it turns out, #4 was dead and the cause of the poor running, I was hung out to dry.
This has been my daily driver this winter. It starts instantly even on the coldest days, although the weber has to warm up before driving. 4wd works great, hi and lo.

1976 FJ40 in Kingsport, Tenn. (northeast tenn.) All original, 99,700 miles no body work has ever been done on vehicle so it is left for you to finish. The vehicle came out of a Girls Scout Camp around Columbia, South Carolina. Vehicle still has dealership stamp below 4 wheel drive emblem when it was sold new in 1976 in South Carolina. There is no usual Landcruiser cancer on vehicle as the girl scout camp used the vehicle for hay rides and put it in a little shed afterward for storage, I know it is too good to be true but it is true. I have been looking for a few months and have not found anything decent. I am expecting rust but DAMN! I went and looked at a cruiser in Golden on Sunday that advertised as having rust on the front drivers side fender and door. It would have been easier to advertise where there wasnt any rust.
Anyway, its been frustrating to say the least. I would post a budget but that really depends on the cruiser. I would go as high as 6K or 7K for the right one but would prefer to stay in the 3K-5K range.
If you know of anything please let me know...

so heres the details.
just swapped a chevy 305 with lc 4spd tranny and transfer. runs great.
4 inch lift, on 33" tsl swampers.
hard top and doors are in good condition, a couple little wheeling dents but the glass is perfect and professionally tinted.
brakes and steering have been done in the past couple years. also brand new exhaust.
all that being said, it's not a restored truck. it has a couple different colours of paint, a couple rusty spots, a couple squeaks and rattles etc. but it does 80 on the highway and goes over whatever i point it at.
had planned on SOA along with the V8 swap, but my schooling has to come first... so i have the axles sitting here... i believe they're from a 77 or 78? disc brake front with...
