1976 FJ40 For Sale - $2500 update - the rig is still running strong. i just replaced the clutch slave cyl with an OEM toyota one. everything else is good to go. i also checked the diffs, transfer case, and tranny fluids - all good. i also put new filler plugs on the diffs as the PO had buggered the old ones nicely. just recently took the doors off for the AC effect and like i said, running strong. all original, waiting for you to make it yours. I bought this in June06 and just had a baby. I have only had time to drive it to work once in a while. It is not my first cruiser and I would say that if nothing else, it is all original. The PO told me that it had a head job and carb rebuild at some point and based on the work I did on my...
The Story- (every cruiser has one!) Bought this cruiser from another cruiser head, then was sent IRAQI for a very long hot summer. Repaired the rear of the tub with 16gauge steel, and drivers floor. Rear sill also cut out and replaced with new metal. Entire front frame and clip was wire wheeled and rust stop painted and then primered, then two top coats of color. Rest of the body 3 coats. Top (white) 2 coats. Interior 2 coats. Tires are like new - painted rims white 3 coats. K&N filter, detailed engine bay, polished valve cover. Great running cruiser -- will go anywhere. Great daily driver, off-road vehicle Engine starts and runs great -- does not burn oil. Carb rebuilt last month Water pump replaced last week...

MO FJ-40 for-sale.
D'animal saw this on his way through MO and turned me onto it so I could help out anyone who might be interested. The year is unknown but Dan said late 60s and I don't know the difference....I forgot to ask the owner. The truck is formerly an Oregon cruiser that was owned by a woman who DD it before she sold it due to marriage. No rust. Seems to be almost completely stock. Owner just doesn't have time to drive it. He said something about $8,000 for it. Contact info: Alan C 800-222-4004 Flying A Motorsports Cuba, MO flyinga@fidnet.com The cruiser is about 45 minutes away from me and if someone is really interested but unable to check the truck out I can go take a bunch of pictures and stuff like that. Pictures...
!974 FJ 40 ( build date 12/1973 ), engine and drive train out of vehicle. The engine needs rebuilding. Bad bearings and needs rings. Thew vehicle has a 3 speed trans. The body is in fairly good condition. It has surface rust on spots where paint was scratched by previous owner, He used it to hunt with in South Georgia. The worst rust is in the floor between the seats. Has several small holes in that area. The main floorboards are solid as is the transmission cover. Has the original seats and covers. The hard top is also in fair shape, It has surface rust around the the rear lift gate and some at the bottom of the rear doors. The frame and axles are in good shape. Has roller tires and wheels. This was going to be a project for me...
72 Fj40 Pa/md
Original 1F with 3 speed on the floor. The previous owner said he rebuilt the engine. However, I only have receipts for an oil pan gasket and rear main seal. The engine runs great, no smoke, always starts right up on the second or third crank. The transmission and transfer case are smooth and don't make any unusual noises. The factory power brakes stop straight and work great. The parking brake will hold the cruiser on a hill. Not one blemish on the factory leather seats. The rear jump seats are in perfect condition. The tub and frame are coated in POR-15 (rust preventative). The frame and tub are solid. The horn, wipers, blower motor and all of the lights work. The interior and exterior are both in excellent condition. No...
I was contacted by a local (Memphis) gentleman the other day about his '77 40. He used to take his kids wheeling in the truck, but they left the nest several years ago. He puts a few miles on the truck on weekends to keep the fluids circulating, but that's about it. Anyway, he would like to sell the truck to another cruiserhead that will appreciate the truck and actually use/drive it. He'd rather it not go to a punk kid who thinks its an old jeep. The truck has not been restored, but is in great shape. It's been on the trails, but hasn't been abused or molested. some details... Original engine, rebuilt about 2500 miles ago,Engine bored 30 over, solid lifters,3/4 cam, new clutch, and headers. 103,000ish miles on truck Repainted...

1976 FJ40: Turn key trail rig
1976 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser (The Orange Crate) Up for sale is the world infamous FJ40 nicknamed the orange crate. I'm listing this for a good friend. This is what he has to say below. I can PM his contact info if you are interested. This will be going on ebay soon if no interest. This would be a great rig for someone who wants instant gratification! It has been in our possesion for 3 years and has been very well maintained and also very well used. I previously owned a 1985 Toyota 4 Runner, but wanted something more. The crate was pretty much stock except for the V8 conversion when I first bought it and I proceeded to slowly add improvements as needed. Well it is a slippery slope when adding improvements as you can see below I...
FJ40 NW Florida / Lower AL Long story short: 1974 FJ40. 67K miles on 2F out of a 60, PO has owned it since 1988. Mechanically I have replaced the clutch master, and put new brake lines on it [hard lines]. New Starter, Weber Carb [fairly new], New Plugs, New Dodge Seats, gauges all work. Starts up great, it took a couple weeks of tweaking to get it there. New Battery. ETC, ETC, ETC.... The body was rhinolined and the hood and fenders suffered from it. They have rust through on a couple spots. I was going get in on CCOT's $500 combo kit but can't right now. The body has rust on the rear corners and under the driver and passenger doors. [I will EMAIL pictures of this cruiser] Like I...

66 FJ40 SoCal
Got this just a little while back cause I really like 40's but now my 4runner needs tires and I've realized that I can only afford one project right now. Body tub & fenders in very good condition. Paint is even decent with a few chips, but still very serviceable. I was told by the PO that the roll cage and the roof are from a different year. They are just sitting there and aren't bolted down at all. The top sides are in fair shape while the roof section itself looks poor (fiberglass is warped). Chevy 350 carbed / SM465 / NP205 drivetrain. Runs good. 32x11.50x15 tires. Spring under, unknown springs or lift. Stock Cruiser axles. No idea on gears or lockers, but I assume stock/none. The 4 wheel drum brakes are in bad shape. I...
