Looking at new rubber ideas.

Toyo Open Country R/T Trail. Got them in the fall and they have been great all winter in the snow up here. Obviously not too much of a concern for you in AZ . I live on a dirt road that gets major potholes and they have been great there too. Not too loud on highway either (I'm used to Goodyear Duratrack on other vehicles for reference). I have Falken Wildpeak At on a 40 series and they are good too. Some people say they are heavy.

I'm running with Milestar Patagonia 35x12.50x15. They are quiet, balanced well and hook up nice.

That’s C rated as I recall - should be a much nicer ride than E rated that is typical for the 255 and 235 tall/skinny 16” sizes. Apologies for cluttering your thread, E!
I've noticed several of our customers run too much tire pressure with an E rated tire which exacerbates the uncomfortable ride scenario. Best solution is to check tire temps across the tread width to asses and adjust pressures accordingly.

Got them mounted and installed. I think they fill the wheel well perfectly. OME lift. 16" 70 Series wheels.

Nice. They look a little more tame than I was expecting, but that probably bodes well for road manners, noise, and wear. What is the actual height measurement?

My experience is that taller or wider tires (like 35"s or 12.5" wide tires) are very difficult to balance and ride/handle well. I've hated driving any vehicle I've ever experienced with 35s. It's also been my experience that big tires = far more likely to break things. Same thing with mud vs all-terrain tires. I've heard so many people say their mud tires weren't loud or had good road manners - as they absolutely roared down the highway.

Basically I was looking for a compromise between road manners and capability, and I think the lockers and winch will make up for any lack in capability.
