Asking $4500, I'm sure you at mud will tell me if I'm out of line...
I acquired this truck last sept. from a previous acquaintence. I needed a 4wd to get through the winter. It ran and stopped, but not well. The PO said it was serviced at a local LC specialist, that compression was @ 95%, that if there were any internal engine probs he would refund full purchace amount.
As it turns out, #4 was dead and the cause of the poor running, I was hung out to dry.
This has been my daily driver this winter. It starts instantly even on the coldest days, although the weber has to warm up before driving. 4wd works great, hi and lo.
the good:
1978 Toyota fj40
tmu, but odo just rolled 100k
2f engine from donor fj60, compression verified @ 125psi/cylinder
4 speed
disc brakes & shoulder belts
full hardtop w/ambulance doors
origional toyota glass
factory wheels & hucaps
factory steering wheel
factory seats and interior
all windows doors function correctly
pbrake good
new:dui hei dist and wires
weber 38
maf ceramic header
centerforce clutch w/ new toyota hyd.
oil pan
all engine gaskets, seals, belts, etc.
ome springs
ome shocks & ss
greaseable schackles/ pins
34x10.5 ltb's
rear brake shoes
headlights
firewall and windshield in good shape
many parts included w/ sale:
factory spare and carrier
fj60 power steering complete
extended ss brake lines
spare motor mounts
etc...
the bad:
vehicle traced back to Ohio= rust problems
needs at minimum a donor tub
top and doors have rust damage
rear frame has rust damage
flat fender conversion (no doubt due to rust)
bib rust
tranny has small leak
rear wheel cylinder leak
tie rod ends worn
drivers seat torn
did I mention rust?
I have close to $10k invested and countless garage hours. I am selling due to hoa=pita. And I just got a new to me (rust free) fj60. Let me know if I'm over pricing. Just the engine and susp. mods are more than I'm asking. Plus this truck has tons of good parts. Thanks, M.
