I am only the second owner of this truck. Mechanically in excellent shape and ready for some body renovation. I have over $7000 invested in this truck and it is ready to be a daily driver today. Most all mechanical parts have been replaced over the past three years by professional Landcuiser mechanics and I have all of the paper work. Looks like I've got a good trade set up.
This is a super straight FJ40 that I was planning on building up, but now that the wife is pregnant again, it simply doesn't have enough seatbelts. So I'm looking for a solid FJ-55, 60 or 62 in comparable condition.
While the body on my FJ is creampuff, make no mistake it is by no means in great shape mechanically. It has a bastardized Chevy drivetrain--the TPI 350 has probably spun a bearing, the 700R4 leaks like all get out, and the t-case--we'll just call that special--it's mounted upside down to make it the correct side drop. The interior will need new seats, a cage, and a new carpet. At some point a cat has peed in it, at least that's what I think that...

It's time to sell my baby. I lover her, but I recently got divorced and need to pay some bills.
It's a 1974. The previous owner said he got it from his brother who bought it new in '74. He also said that it has been in CA it's whole life (and it had smog equipment to prove it). It shows 12,790 on the odometer but it has almost certainly turned over. It has the original engine which was rebuilt by the previous owner about 6500 miles ago.
It runs good, always starts. It comes with a factory PTO winch. The carburetor was rebuilt by Mark from Marks Offroad about a year ago. It also has 4 Super Swamper LTB tires with +95% tread remaining.

I'm selling my toy. It's a sad sad day. I've got some personal stuff going on and it's gotta go. I've only owned it 6 months, but have spent a small fortune fixing it up.
It's not perfect, but it's not terrible either. Here's a list of the good things.
1. Rear frame has been professionally fixed/restored by the guys at Radd cruisers up in Duncan. They did an awesome job and the frame is even more solid than it was when it was brand new.
2. Rear end was re-done.
3. Brake lines replaced.
4. Radiator replaced, all hoses, thermostat ect..
5. Engine was tuned up and valves adjusted.
6. New seat belts.
7. New engine belt.
8. Brand new stereo and speakers.
9. No leaks. ( it used too, but the guys at Radd cruisers fix that as...
1970 Fj40 For Sale
New in 2006 New brakes, all new guages, new fuel tank, new tie rod ends, new brake master and clutch master. The fj is from arizona so there is no rust. The underside, interor and the engine bay have all been srayed with spray in bed liner. All lights work. Was driving up to two weeks ago. 2f engine has one dead cylinder. The tires are mud terrians and are new also. 3 speed tranny and transfer case that is fawless all seals and gaskets replaced. No leaks and all gears are good. I did inspect all of this on 2006 when I had this fj torn down. The engine and tranny have been removed with hopes of fixing and reinstalling, but another fj40 has my attention. Well it has come time to sell the 40. Will be looking for a 60 but not interested in trades right now. It is a 10/71 Fj40 with a 2f with a webber carb, and 4spd from a 76. 2" OME lift with HFS shackles. This truck drives like a dream - 4 wheel drive works great. I would rate my 40 as a solid 7 out of 10. It does have some electrical gremlins so I purchased an American Autowire Highway 15 Harness that I will include in sale. The black on is a 1972 with a 1976 hard top. It has a 350 v8 with the 205 tcase, hd 4 speed tranny out of a big truck. 35'' Goodyear MTRs with 95% tread, 5 pointt harness, tach, lots of toggles, air pump, extra power steering setup, light bar(not in pic), has some timming issues and I dont have a light, custom roll bar with cooler rack, Disk brakes in front, custom gauges, tilt steering. no rust. I do have a set of hard doors too. MAKE AN OFFER! I will trade too! Camp trailers, toyotas, atvs, I am open to anything.
