i took it for a 4 hours drive to work on my cabin , after 3 hours the water pump on the 350 start to leak ,i still continued and got to the cabin.
i ordered a new pump in a small town , it took 3 days to get it , so no forest road exploration :( , it took 2 hours to change it just before going back home.

OK while I'm waiting for the 3rd member parts to arrive had to find something else to keep me busy so I pulled the old rear seals and bearings. Went to the local Autozone and rented the bearing puller, they give a 90 day window to return the tools so I'll put these tools to good use for the front axle as well.

The bearing removed within 4 pulls of the slide hammer

The old bearings didn't look too bad but why take a chance, since the diff is all apart replace all.

I'm also thinking of going all out and installing disc brakes, what do y'all think?
I say yes go for it.

That's what I did; replacing the bearings and seals is dirt cheap in terms of labor at that point, almost seems silly not to.

I did, at the same time also. I really like having discs on all fours, I thought it was a very worthwhile conversion.

Well, it looks like the rocking chair and the beer came in handy!

I highly recommend rear disc..... I love mine!!

I need to get rid of the glasspack on mine too (PO installed). Really dislike the sound of it and it also restricts airflow, which I'm not in favor of. What muffler did you use to replace yours?
Here's the muffler installed. I can't see any brand identifiers. Cheap house brand I guess. I won't complain about $90 installed though.

Rerouted exhaust so I could fit the original skid plate underneath. Everything tucked above and inboard of frame as well as above the rear cross member. Transverses the back to exit passenger side. Beats the hell out of the straight pipe exit that would choke me with exhaust with the top off.

After about a year on the Duratrac's, today was the first rotate and balance for them.....close to 4K worth of "Smiles While Driving". Without the hubcaps, you can notice the depth of the the rims.

Thanks! They start to mellow out around 7. Mines 9 and he's getting to the energy of a normal dog!

Completley agree, mine is 7.5 and still thinks he is 2.

While a heater is nice, I much prefur to have cup holders and new switches.

What do these three make?

A combined under dash double cup holder and switch panel.

Could you tell me where you got the switches? I'd really like the driving light switches.

The origional ones were from ARB (australia) but since they became popular I have been getting them of ebay - much cheaper.

New tie rods and tie rod ends, brake check and adjust, de-mud, diff ratio check, new oem wheels and hub caps, new locks and ignition barrel, new oem flasher unit.
So cool getting a stack of boxes from Toyota but I've barely scratched the surface. My truck has no rust but just about every part is completely worn out and in need of replacing.

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 - even when everything is broken, everything works.
