Nice truck, and dog! My brother has a GSP - and I have to say that when it comes time for me to "puppy up," a GSP will be very high on the list.

Thanks! They start to mellow out around 7. Mines 9 and he's getting to the energy of a normal dog!

Yup - his is 4 - running non-stop. She tore her ACL hunting and has been on "leash walk only" status for 16 weeks post surgery. I've never seen a dog express such palpable and incessant boredom!

I finally ditched the glasspack in exchange for a "stock type" muffler. It so much quieter, especially up and past 3k. I no longer sound like a gigantic VW bug screaming down the highway. Maybe I need a different fan with a clutch now.

Finished rebuild of heater and blower motor, Worked on cleaning up the interior control knobs, ready for the paint from Michael's Hobby store.

Lost my gas cap! DOH! Went to put fuel in today.. and it was gone. :( Lame. I think I left it on the step or on the rear tire when I left Gold lake last weekend... and haven't put fuel in it since until today.

Where did you get the cup holders? Not having a place to put my ice cold beverage is one of my biggest frustrations.

Just got them of ebay for about $2.50AU each. The switches were easily the most expensive bitat $36.

I need to get rid of the glasspack on mine too (PO installed). Really dislike the sound of it and it also restricts airflow, which I'm not in favor of. What muffler did you use to replace yours?

Took my 653 40 over to our local Cars and Coffee with some local club members from ONSC (olde north state cruisers, nc).

We had 7 cruisers(4 40s, 1 73, 1 62, and 1 80) in our section representing.

The event itself was packed, and the cruisers were getting some love. Lots of other classics, tuners, exotics, rat rods, muscle cars, and everything in between.

@NCNole (this is the "after" pic, sadly mine is the "before" pic)
@forrest5000 (his new diesel toy was getting a lot of attention!)
@fj40alex (cool truck, 1 orig owner)
@potentialRecruitChris (immaculate Cali truck moved out east)
@potentialRecruitStu (nice period correct decals)
@joyRidaz ( not pretty but it made the drive)
@Izzyandsue (not pictured - accross from other cruisers)

Other onsc-ers present was @lt1fire and @angerhater.

I'll have to look and see if there's a name on it but after talking with the shop owner, we just decided to go with a "stock type." I'll snap a pic later.

OK while I'm waiting for the 3rd member parts to arrive had to find something else to keep me busy so I pulled the old rear seals and bearings. Went to the local Autozone and rented the bearing puller, they give a 90 day window to return the tools so I'll put these tools to good use for the front axle as well.

The bearing removed within 4 pulls of the slide hammer

The old bearings didn't look too bad but why take a chance, since the diff is all apart replace all.

I'm also thinking of going all out and installing disc brakes, what do y'all think?
