Installed new springs, shocks, tires, and wheels. I went with a 2.5" lift and 33x12.50 BFG KM2 tires on reproduction factory wheels.

Reproduction factory wheels? Are these just new OEM or is there some shop out there actually making wider, factory wheels?

Put it on blocks in the garage.

Sold the white wagon wheels and tires to make way for the OEM steelies to go back on. Currently shopping for tires.

They are OEM. I ordered them from SOR with the hubcaps but can't get the hubcaps to go on :(

Working on hardtop sides getting them mounted, plus all new w/s.

FWIW - Here is what I did: Take a claw hammer, put the clip in the claw and work back and forth lightly as not to damage the clip or the rim. Do this for each clip/spring on each rim to help loosen them up just enough to get the hub caps on....I just made-do/improvised with what I had.

Gave the "Aft" section of my 76 a much needed "face lift" ;) Paint lenses, guards, bumpers, badges, reflectors etc.......

I drove it a bit to confirm there's no faults needing immediate attention..

And I got the pewter pin-badge I recently ordered and hammered it into some timber in our kitchen just to make sure visitors recognise how important my BJ40 is to me:D:

Gave up on finding a reasonably priced rear license plate bracket and for a grand total of $21, I am in the lighted plate business. One step closer to being inspected!

What color blue is that? I like that better than mine. I will be repainting in the next year.
Thanks

painting is highly overrated

it seemingly took a half year to get the paint that just went on my 40 rearward of the firewall seams to reasonably match the front half of the truck

pics will be in my build thread, eventually . . .

Took my '2nd best' girl for a ride.... Don't tell my wife !

Returned home from Austin yesterday, after a one month visit that turned into a 7 week visit, and found 44 in the same position I left her!

44 On Blocks for BOSS Air Bags.JPG

I put her up on my 2X4 stand before we left, in anticipation of installing BOSS air bags as soon as I got back - I also poured ATF/Diesel in the cylinders before we left, on the outside chance that it might free up rings... I will change the oil, filter, plugs, pcv/grommet... we'll see...

Unfortunately, either the 2600 mile round trip, in my Tundra, or the work I did in Austin (Trex composite deck, wiring upgrades, etc.), or the combination of the two has aggravated my spine/hip issues - I've got to go see my spine specialist on Monday and find out what can be done to mitigate the pain.

44 has to wait a few more days...

As many of you have read, we picked up our new Golden Retriever puppy (Chester), in Texas and he's more than doubled in size - here is a picture of Chester and Gunner, week 1 (Chester was 8 weeks old):

Here's Chester and Gunner chowing down, yesterday, week 7 (Chester is 15 weeks old):

They are now best buds - we're gonna have a lot of fun together!! Especially in 44!!

Hey Danny, welcome back! Sorry to hear about your back just hang in there and things will get done in due time.
Love how Gunner and Chester are best buds.:)

Feels good to be back home doesn't it, no matter how much you have enjoyed the trip? That's a great pic of the two buds doping what is probably one of their three favorite pastimes, eating, sleeping, and rough housing.

Let us know what the Dr has to say. I have a rather strong interest in low back and hip problems as that is where my problems reside. Short story, had to endure laminectomies in L2,3,4 and 5, and a sacro-illiac joint that was so far out of place that one leg was an inch shorter that the other.

Good to see 44 is still there isn't it? Bet that if 44 wasn't tied down there would have been some unexplained miles on the odometer (looking for you).

Don

Thanks Don! Yes, I was really pleased to see 44's smile, after 7 weeks apart - just like Gunner and Chester - they always smile when they see me too!

My back and hip problems aren't nearly as bad as what you've described. But, I love to hike and walk my dogs and I haven't been able to do either of late... I've refused (thus far) to take controlled drugs for the pain and am hoping this flare up is simply that... so I can continue my search for new places to hike and explore.

At any rate, I'm gonna crawl under 44 in the morning and install her BOSS air bags and see how I feel afterwards. I hope to get her road ready before Monday... we'll see.
