Installed a new washer motor and reservoir, push button control in dash as stock switch isn't functional. Motor fires but no love through all the tubing... never ending trouble shooting.

Reinstalled the left front blinker assembly after painting, soldering

Bondo'd the right front fender...

Another calming night in the garage!

Painted the bezel white again and added the Toyota emblem back. It's been 10 years since it looked like this! Don't mind the green spot on the hood... I've been testing paint colors for it's repaint coming up soon. :)

"new" wheels

I'm building my own wheels to run Hummer take-offs. I like the Toyota six-spoke look. This is the first wheel, almost done. It's nice having a ginormous lathe at work to turn wheel centers on!

I may weld the current valve stem holes shut and move them behind the center to use the cuttouts in each Toy center. I'm shooting for around 3 1/2" BS.

bezel looks good  - you have the spacers as well ?

Must be nice! Wheels are looking good

Thanks! I'm probably too particular about my wheels, but I love the factory Toyota centers. Their so stout and have the look I want. My only concern is whether or not I will be able to keep everything true without any runout. These will be grey or the factory pewter. The rims are only about 7" wide so the Hummer wranglers will have a very skinny profile.

I'm building them on "government time". That is during lunch break or after work.

Changed glow plugs. Had been getting a bit harder to start in the mornings.

Finally pulled my power steering box to see if I could reduce the amount of constant wandering, it was tiring driving on the pavement any distance.
First try I just adjusted the external on center friction screw. No inprovement.
Opened up the box and adjusted the worm gear preload to six inch pounds.
WOW what an improvement, I might even consider driving up to Crusing The Woods.

Put in new cowl vent tubes. Of the two old ones, the one on the right was missing completely, and the left one was deteriorated to almost nothing, but I was glad it was still there as it helped me find the fitting. What a bugger of a job it was for me, but I am so tickled that I was able to get it done! I solved the problem of water coming in the cab!

I took a few pics, and so did my DH.:)

nut plate alignment

Removed the body mounted hinges to get them powder coated .
A real bugger getting the bolts off ... Hope I can get them back in

What works for me is to fish a ~1.5" drywall screw (or nail or whatever you can keep a grip on) through the mounting holes in the A-pillar and roughly line up the nut plate.

Then insert the A-pillar half of the hinge through the slot - into position and then use the alignment tool through the hinge half, sheetmetal and through the floating nutplate. Once you have one hole lined up with all three parts, the other holes should be close enough for starting the bolts in adjacent holes. A bit of WD-40 or PB Blaster on the bolt threads goes a long way in getting them to thread in.
